• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

New Chain and Sprockets Question

Well it worked out pretty good. I have no complaints on the supplier part.

The description was 'fit all Husqvarnas up to 2013' and it was 99% correct for the Strada.

Interior Diameter was perfect but the PCD of the holes was off by about 2mm total, ie 1mm error on each hole in the sprocket.

With a bit of careful 'aligning' by using the original sprocket as a template and new CS bolts it fitted quite well.

So now I am at 15T Front (Renthal) and 49T Rear (Supersprox) with a new Renthal 114 link X-Ring chain cut down by 1 link to 113.

Time for some traffic trials to see if the reduction from original 16/47 has worked.

Hi mark,i was thinking of doing the same sprocket changes ...how has it changed the bike? what is your top speed now? thanks for you reply

Bike is excellent for where I use it, Philippines roads, no big high speed stuff here. In city traffic the lower gearing is a lot easier on the clutch and going up the mountain twisty roads i can stay one gear higher than before which keeps the speed up. Max speed is 160 kmph but I rarely use it, normally riding at 80-100 here with occasional bursts of 120-140 but not for long.
Fuel consumption has gone from 26 km/litre to around 23/24, but the benefits far outweigh that.

Guys,
On here somewhere is a thread I did about regearing my Terra, I had read some threads with negative feed back on JT re fitment and plat on the output shaft. The folks at Sprocketcenter.com have a TR specific listing. and with a simple phone call I got a real person on the line and he helped me with an appropriate gearing combo that fit the bill well. Aside from the fact I got a gold chain with not one but three master links for my bike, one press fit and two clip link jobs.... The whole package was ordered from the West Coast and was in my hands inside a week ..
Good service, quick delivery and live help great products what more can a old guy ask for...
