• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

New Facebook group is over the top.

Michel why would you prefer the steel shoe, I have a fair few spares but all the steel shes and drums tend to be to worn to be of any use and any new replacements extremely expensive, while the brass bits are often reclaimable and easier to find new.

I've bought my 420 with steel shoes on. I have only bikes with steel shoes (430 and 500).
I don't know if you can CNC brass, and which quality must be used.
Where do you get easily brass shoes ? On ebay ?

well i joined facebook under a pseudonym and there is some good stuff there but i have to say the format of cafe hooosk is sooo much better. the fb page is like a coloured $2 shop brochure

I agree that CafeHusky is a better format, but it doesn't have to be the only one.
There's some good info on the various FB pages and I think Steve's is the pick of them so far.
Tony.

I don't like being exposed and accesable on facebook. Some people I want to forget or not think about. Maybe the husky fans can be directed to cafe husky from there.
Met a great guy today, we chatted for a bit has 4 L/C bikes and this came up.

"

Unfortunately, I have a ton of questions and it’s tough to find the answers for these old girls. I joined cafe husky but cannot view pics, post topics or even like someone’s post. I really like the FB group with all the questions

572 members as of of today, that a ton a traffic and content.

a properly functioning forum is better than anything..this one is broken and until another is started, its what we have.

Takes roughly 30 days because of hackers and fly by nighters.

Look how many guys come on here with new builds, gun ho, then vanish. That's because they soon figure out the work involved and the price tag.

I can't go on Facebook cause I know too many people and employees. People now a days and way they act with all drama, drives me nuts, as it is. I get a zillion linkdin requests and ignore. I just want peace of mind after hours and do me own thing. I work easy mon-fri 60 hours week.the rest of my time is work at home, my builds, racing or going trail riding. But to others, it's prob a good thing. But wait! My phone rings 24/7 all the time.

How is Cafe Husky broken?
New people can't really participate.... Friend who rode an '85 250WRX back in the day, just picked up a 250XC. He joined, but can't post, like anything or message anyone. He's frustrated and using FB instead.
To all of us who have been around, it seems fine. To the those who want to come in, it seems broken. No one can tell them when or how they get full privileges. There are some guys over on KTM Talk who thought becoming a contributing member would get them full privileges and they feel swindled out of their money. That's the way it is and you can't sugar coat it.
