• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

New motoz tires ROCK****************************************

Got my set of enduro IT's a couple of weeks ago. I finally got the time to put them on yesterday and go for a short ride. We rode some 2 track dirt roads with loose pea gravel to loose rocks on top. Some single track that was soft dirt with large loose rocks in it. And some pine trails that are deep pine needle base, super soft and loamy.

We only rode for about an hour and a half but here are my impressions. Old tires were Kenda milleville stickys.

First the back tire. I started with 13.5 psi and worked down from there. As others have said they are very predictable. I felt like I knew what they were going to do. They did seem to slide quite a bit and I never felt like they were grabbing big handfulls of traction so I kept airing down. They also seemed to wander a bit on hill climbs. I eventually got down to 9.5 psi and still wasn't completely happy, but this was a short ride so I might just need to mess with the psi a little more. I might also try turning the tire around and running it backwards. A good tire, predictable performance, but never got that "hooked up" feeling from them.

Now the front. WOW****************************************! I have never really liked the way the front handles on this bike. It wants to wash out and is just a very vague feeling front end. Not anymore. This thing rocks! I started with 14 psi in the front tire and was immediately happy with the grip. I was flying into turns and picking and holding lines that would have been very hard to do with the old tires. I aired down to 11.5 psi and was even happier with the grip. I feel like I can do no wrong with this tire. It grabs everything like it is made of glue. Definitely the best front tire I have ridden with. I dont think I will ever be buying another type of front tire. If you don't have one of these tires, get one now!

I will do another, shorter review once I get more time on them.

Pretty much exactly what i am finding. Not real sure about the rear. I like it but don't love it. Going to try the Tracula rear next. The front IT ROCKS.

Have you tried running the rear backwards yet? To me it looks like it should be run that way anyways.

But that front!? Wow! I love it. I finally feel like the front end is planted.
 
You might want to wait to turn that tire around. The needs to break in. Your best traction comes on about the third ride. I have also found that a little bit of suspension tweeking helps too.

Went for about a 4 hour ride yesterday on these tires again. I'm loving this front tire so much. I was able to push it past it's limit a couple times yesterday, but still didn't go down. It gives you a little slide to let you know you are pushing too hard, then grabs traction again. I have found I am pushing much harder that I would have ever dared with any other tire I have tried.

I liked the rear more this time, but am not in love with it like I am the front. Maybe it's doing everything it should, but is just overshadowed by the front?
 
im interested in the tires

ive heard they act like a trials but they clean out like a knobby. true? false?

the trials i have rode with were on a 250f and during dry conditions, i also rode the same bike in the sand and was suprised at how well it handled the sand. very stable. i was as happy with the trials in the sand as i am with my knobby.

and can you run low psi in the motoz's like trials?

how are they wearing? i dont check my odometer very often but ive got about 1/2 a season my the scorpions and they are wearing great.

the only thing thats really stopping me is 1. i dont really need tires right now 2. i really like my pirellis, i just know what they are going to do and when, its nice that way.

seriously though ive heard lots of good things about the motoz but those are some questions ive been wondering about.
 
I ahve 500 miles now on my Motoz Enduro IT front and rear on my 09 WR125. The front I love and it is showing little wear and loss of traction. Holding up great.

The rear, as Clay (7602) mentioned is a little different in feel. After getting used to it I like it. I actually think it works better with some wear on it. It does have a strange kind of wandering / flat feeling at times which i ahve now gotten used to. It is not lossing trction just feels odd. I typically need a new rear at 300-400 miles. This tire looked like it might wear fast but after 500 miles it still has several hundered left in it. I'm never at a loss for traction in the stuff i ahve been riding which right now is loose rocks, slit, loam, roots etc. (you've seen the pix of where i ride)

Overall I am VERY happy with these. Might try a different rear for the fun of it.

I ran the Desert HT 110/100 for over 1000 miles, it started life with 400 miles in Baja. It just kept going and going.

I also liked it more as it wore, super predictable. Even though it was 110/100 I think it was too large and heavy for my 250. Are the X-CIRCUIT 100/100-18 here (US) yet?
 
600 miles and counting. This is the longest i have ever kept a tire on the rear of any bike. I was initially not super impressed with the rear. it actually got better as it got some time on it. Still no lacking for traction after 600 HARD miles, no real chunking even though it has seem a LOT of rocks. Very durable.

Got about another 50 miles in yesterday. Still lovin that front enduro IT! Got a flat in the rear, and was still riding at a very fast pace for having a flat. Tire felt low, not flat. Pulled out the pressure gauge and nothing. Pretty cool tires.

Which tire would you recommend from the Motoz line to compete with the S-12 tire?
Here we are mostly fine sand, with rocks and roots thrown in for fun.

Edit: Looks like the Terrapactor ST. Anyone have a picture of the tread?

Terrapactor ST

Just got a set myself. Will post. Look VERY aggressive fore loose sand / mud etc.
