• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Heck I'm almost to lean at 185 (high school / 27 years ago!!!), I'm at 210 now. I just dropped my rear to 8, maybe I'll try less. :excuseme: Never ran that low before.

Traculas on my 1 2 5 worked great here but it was a great traction day so :excuseme:.

Enduro IT with about 750 miles on it. Works good. Starting to loose a few chunks out of the side knobs but then again I'm not nice on gravel. I did have to relearn my front brake on the 1 2 5 as it is WAY powerful.

After about 8 races, many weekend rides, and some rides on rocky, biting terrain, I finally lost a chuck on a side knob. But, they still have a ton of life left! I love these tires. We're probably about to shred them this weekend on a dual-sport ride, so I'll probably be calling for more. :) Best tires ever. I am 200% faster on sand...in fact I used to dread it, and now I don't mind it at all. Using Tractionator Enduro IT
 
It sounds like they need low psi just like the Dirt Sharks I have been using. They are a heavy tire also so they can take it. I have been running my 100 at 7.5 psi and it works awesome. I hear people run 6 on the larger ones.

Adam was running 12 on a Motoz 120 with a UHD tube the day I rode with him and he was not liking the tire at all. I was thinking that it might work really good with less air though. I am about the same weight and speed as him and I never pinch at 8.
 
I agree about the low tire pressure. The ride before last, the tires got aired up too much and it was like riding on ice. Let a ton of air out and the situation was dramatically different.
 
Rode yesterday afternoon on slick clay base and rocks. Ran the Enduro IT front with about 9 PSI and the rear Tracula at about 7 PSI and was hooking up like crazy. Rode a stretch of 10 miles of faster embedded and loose jagged rock, no issues at all. If it was going to flat it would have. these tires have huge rim savers.

Which tire would you recommend for my WR 360? It is a tire eater:thumbsdown: Same tire and pressure and inept guy on my WR 250 would get over twice the life. All that instant torque has a price. Same rocky, loose, with roots riding.

Tracula maybe, seems to be holding up well. Tractionator holds up rear well but not real good for that stuff as it is an intermediate tire. I hear if you flip the tractionator backwards and run 6-8 PSI it is awesome. Might be worth trying.

Here is the stuff my tracula with 7 PSI is working great on, slick clay / dirt base with rocks and roots...

well, took it for a spin today. slimey greese fun. strted the day out on my pirelli and then swithed to the motoz.

i liked how the motoz acted on the txc, i was trying and i couldnt get it to break free when i was on that bike. it did ok on my 144, started with 8 psi, then tried 6. didnt really notice a difference.

on my 144, in the open it was a tad squirly for my taste. in tighter muddy stuff it behaved.

im glad i could try it out! as it sits though im going to stick with what ive been running all year. i think this is a better 4 stroke tire if that makes any sence.

not a bad tire just not for me. i wouldnt really discourage anyone fromm running one, i just like my pirellis better.
 
I cant say enough good about the tracula's on my xc-fw, 300+ miles and going strong, Running @ 8psi, riding mostly intermediate, rooty, to loose rocky stuff, with some very rocky stuff in the mix, and traction is premium, VERY stable at extreme speeds, wear is unmatched, and only one chunked knob on the last ride, the small pockets in the knobs still 80 percent, As long as these tires are available i'll never buy any other tire!!!
 
Kelly,you mentioned that you were going to try some Desert HTs on a DS. Did you and do you have a ride report at all? I am ready for tires on my 610 and thought about them.
Also my 450 is about ready, but tires are scarce now?

Good wear, OK tires. not super wild over them. Found they did work very well off road but seemed a little loose on the road. Not bad just not as street tire feeling as a MT21 but better off road. If you did a lot of off road DS this would be a very good choice.

I tell you what I have about 300 miles on a Tracula on the rear of my 125 and LOVE it. Lowering the pressure made it amazing, was not wild over it with 12 PSI. It has jumped up the ranks as one of my favorite all time rear tires. I have hammered it with 7 PSI through rock gardens without issue. I don't even think about it any more. Excellent traction, control and wear.

I've found similar results with the tire pressure in the Motoz on my TE610, 6-9psi seem to be the trick in the rear, 8-12psi in the front, doesn't matter what tire type. Kelly, are you running the Tracula forward or backwards?

p.s. the Enduro S/T front is friggin great IMO!

if my Enduro I/T ever wears out I'll try the one I have sitting here. The Enduro I/T I'm running has 955 miles on it and looks less than 1/4 worn out!!! Hooks up great on everything but deep mud (It is a I/T tire) At 955 miles...

Me too.

I doubt they're FIM legal. Looks like 21/32 depth to me, but worth asking. From the sounds of it, they are really strong in casing, so not good for quick changes.
 
Big local 25hr team race this weekend. Great place and conditions. Jake (TXC250) and Scott (TXC450) used new Traculas they got from me and LOVED them. I was running them on the Wr125 as well. Hopefully they will post their opinions of the tires.
