• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

New paint. Ideas wanted.

About a week ago a cager made a u turn in front of me without indicating resulting in me hitting him at about 40 mph. I kicked the bike down and went over. Luckily I'm fine with a couple of bruises and cuts.

The bike crashed very well too with the major damage being on the left shroud. However, most of the plastics received a scratch or three. Bars were bent and I replaced them with a set of zeta fat bars and new clamps.

Now i need ideas to re do it.

I want to go pearl white and maybe try and incorporate the 2014 Colors, but I'm really open to other ideas too. There does not seem to be that many custom 610's online... Or I'm looking in the wrong places.

Plastics do not paint well - always end up chipping and peeling even with vinyl paint. If you really want a colour change consider a vinyl wrap of the plastics. Nice thing too is it is also easily reversible.

Just another option to consider is this handy stuff called plastidip, you can get it at most hardware stores. Sprays on and if you don't like the color you can just peel it off, no residue. Is pretty durable, I have my rims dipped and it hasn't come off after ~1500miles

Plastic paints VERY well.

Scuff it with red scotch-brite and water until it's dull (not shiny at all).

Clean it with Prep-Sol or Kleanz-EZ grease and wax remover.

Spray it thoroughly with adhesion promoter, 2-3 drop coats.

Paint it with whatever you want.
