  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc New to me 2010 CR 150

SMALL BORES ROCK IN THE WOODS WISH THERE WAS SUCH A THING AS A 87-88 125 WR IN THE U.S. BE WAY KOOL IF YOU COULD GET IT UP TOOOO SAY 190ISH

Had enough of staring at a laptop and enough emails were sent this morning to justify a quick load and go to spot just out of town to (guilt free) WOT through the gearbox and double check carb settings. My impression again is for 1.....LOVE the sound of a 2 stroke and 2......feels like I'm the boss directing this little beauty instead of having a bike tell ME where it wants to go.

Have been reading thread after thread on carbs and how tricky it is to set up the Mikuni TMX 38 but.....either this has just been set so super spot on by PO(s) and being at or close to sea level does have advantages...this thing rrrrRIPS. Now...when I say rip...it's not WOT of a TE 450 kind of Rip but...will certainly be berm blasting and whip ripping at some nearby tracks. Getting used to clutch vs rekluse is kinda easy with this thing...now mind you....this is just gravel road and no proper tight and technical single track but I'm still pretty happy about this thing. Only adjustment made so far....turn in air screw a quarter turn. When out 1.5 standard at 8 deg celcius today...a little hanging idle. Rectified and felt strong for the little 144 power plant through all the gears. MAN....happy to reconnect with a little smoker again...last time was...27 years ago heheheheheh....they have changed a bit since then :) Oh yeah....doesn't take long to go through 4 L of fuel mixed at 40:1.....Might have to look into a bigger tank for trail riding...

Best is to call or email them. They recommended a 36mm for my 144, but I said I was building a 165 and planning to race it, so got a 38mm with the 3-2m rod. I also got a couple of their newer rods to try at some point.
I can't judge it really on the 144 because the top end was worn out. It's a 165 now and break in this weekend
From what I can tell, both bikes responded the same. They pull easy and clean from idle, nice broad mid and no loss on top. I'm a fast B, wanna be A, rider, can get 50 miles from a tank on the 300 easy, 60 if necessary. With the fuel savings and no need for a larger tank, Lectron pays for itself.
A WR tank fits your CR and should give you 50 mile range with the Lectron.

Giddy up! Bike about to get loaded up in trailer and going to burn a tank at some trails I walked yesterday....ground still frozen....minus 5 deg C right now...gonna strap on the go pro and doc this first exposure to frozen dirt! Silly me.....thinking this tank could hold 6L....already overflowed....may have to look into ahigher capacity WR tank for enduro events this year....yeah yeah...plug "get a Lectron comment" here ;) to be cont......

First impression....Grinning ear to ear after a short 20-30 min ride around some nearby trails that were essentially frozen at time of enty and melting as I was riding. So slippery, I couldn't even get on the pipe without the rear end breaking loose. Coming from riding lazy with a Rekluse....this is an adjustment but MAN...I can't wait for some drier weather to start getting used to this. A couple small climbs and this chugs beautifully at the low rpms...it chugs so well that you'll see from the vid that I should be stalling it in a couple areas but it DOESN'T. One thing I WILL get is a different clutch perch/lever to get better access to the lever..any recommendations? Small hands....It's quite the reach to access. Be Kind....this video is just my first ride on some super slick trail and riding WITH a clutch for the first time in....let's just say last time I rode with a clutch would have been my first bike...a 1981 YZ 80....second bike was an 07 TE 450 that I've had for last three years. A spin on this jas just opened me up to the realization that the technology of today...I just got a GLIMPSE!

haha..."whoo hoo hoo!" my feelings exactly. Small bore 2t are a blast after being on the 300 for over a year and XRs before that. Enjoy

Ok...time to spend money on contact points....grips, pegs and tires...Leaning towards the Dunlop geomax 32 Soft/Int. Have always been a motoz fan but since putting on a Geomax AT81 on my last husky and noting the grip...Soft loamy terrain like the Ganaraska, a moto track in Godfrey, bayside mx/trails, Limerick forest and Mini-pine enduro will be areas I'll spend most of season riding.

I run a Bridgestone M59 front and a Vee Rubber GNCC 300 on the rear.

I ordered up the dunlop 32s front and rear, a moose racing shorty clutch lever and some grips. Tank looks like it needs a cap which I'm assuming will be the price of the tank...;)

thought someone had a wr tank in the classifieds , never priced the dry break setup on the other tank.

I found an Acerbis cap to fit, part #2070740055
Basically a large thread cap, @55mm, same as Honda and some others, @ $15 on ebay. Comes with the gasket and a vent hose. It's got that carbon look too

looks like the tank can be set up for a dry break or standard cap. Looked up the cap and base with gasket on the web site. It's 4/10 gallon over a WR tank.

Check that the rubber on the underside of the cap isn't caught in one of the threads. Push it down all the way round. This could be a source of your leak.
