  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

New to me 2010 TE310, minor problem

Did you get it running??
Not yet. The mating surface on the cylinder was not perfect (pretty sure it was dropped) and I don't want to deal with the dealer anymore unless I have to so I sent it to a machine shop to get it done right. If and when I get it back I will drop it back in and hopefully the electronics and fuel delivery will work...... This is the longest it has ever taken me to finish a project. I guess this explains why it was such a good deal....haha

So what I forgot to say was that when I was trying to get the mating surfaces to seal I very stupidly over torked the 4 head bolts and pulled them out of the case...... The machine shop has it all ready to go just waiting on new head bolts from husky. I WANT TO RIDE THIS THING ALREADY****************************************! Can I just ride one of your bikes for a while

HAHA... I FINALLY RiDE IT TODAY********************************************************************************!!!
first pic is after I dropped the motor in, second is after my first ride around the block

Very nice, how do you like it? I'm about to take on a similar job! Just no where near as bad!

@tepco i really like it. I haven't had much time in the dirt but from the way it feels I think it will do just fine. I do like a challenge but if I were to do it again, I wouldn't. Parts are just to expensive and hard to come by. Now that I type this I change my mind. I would do it again. I think I would have tried to talk the owner down a bit more on the price.
