• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

New owner of a 2013 Terra-ized Strada; fully loaded (heated grips, hand guards, hard bags, skid plate, windshield, off-road pegs, and gas carrier), Heidenau K60s, just over 3k miles. < $6k. First thumper I've ever owned but planning to do some adventure of the Oregon back country. Been a rider for over 20 years but all street. Also currently own a 2012 Yamaha FJR1300.

I'm new to the forum and just introducing myself. Live in Beaverton, Oregon. Plan to scour the forum as undoubtedly there's a list of recommended mods, add-ons, and farkels within. :-)

Welcome to the group! I am just over the river in Vancouver. If you want to check out another modded terra ever or just b/s, give me a shout we can link up. In the middle of the yz fork swap right at the moment. I plan on riding the wa discovery route in a few months.

Welcome. I hope you enjoy the bike as much as I do. It has its challenges being a Bavarian/Italian/Austrian hybrid (if there is a formula "quirk", that has got to be it), but it is still the bike I have enjoyed the most over the past 20 years. Lots of great info and people here.

Congrats on the purchase! I've had mine since new and love the bike. Like you, I rode all street and a couple of track days prior to the TR650 (12 years of riding when I made the switch). The first year learning to rider on gravel and dirt improved my overall ability greatly, though there was a learning curve that involved a new radiator, a scratched helmet, and proof that the crash bars protect the important stuff. It was a bit of learning curve, but wouldn't go back to payment only. I absolutely love riding with the ADV folks, camping off the bike, and exploring the mountains on the paths less traveled.

Have fun and look here and advrider for tips and suggestions related to upkeep. There are a few mods you might consider with the air filter and spark plugs, but that thing looks pretty fully farkled already:cheers:
Edit-- You might look at a Seat Concepts seat. One of the better investments I made when farkling.

Thanks for the welcome and I might just take you up on that. I've made a few long paved rides in WA with my FJR. OR/WA are just amazing states for riding.

Done quite a few long rides on my FZ1 in OR and WA, there is some seriously beautiful country out here to explore. I am free every pretty much every Sunday, not the most experienced off-road rider but i can pretty much be talked into trying anything.
