• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hey folks - I just bought a newly uncrated 2014 Terra to replace my 950 Adventurer, and so far (~150 miles) I'm loving it! I don't seem to be having the stalling problems, so I'm wondering if I have the proper MOSS programming from the factory? I don't think the selling shop (Appalachian Offroad in WV) did anything like that, because the salesman said he'd never really experienced such issues on the several Terras they've sold. Maybe 2014 builds have it sorted out?

Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting the girl broken in and testing her upper octaves. I'll be watching this site for insights into what I should (or should not) do. I'm thinking I might first try a Seat Concepts saddle, even though this one isn't bad.

I have the 2" Seat concepts and makes a huge difference I am 240lbs with no butt. I do not have the stall issue as some have described. I think some of it is rider style of driving and the early 2013 models. Mine has never had the moss tool and doing well. I have read switching the front sprocket 1 tooth down or rear sprocket 2 teeth up helps that. I have not tried as I like the better fuel mileage and hardly get to use 1st on the road. 90% street driving so first is shifted quick.

G'day and welcome.

Sounds like you're one of the lucky ones then ;)
There are no '14 models as such, all bikes were built 2012 and it might be different in the US, but there's only one version firmware/ map , the first version is the latest version.
Also check the ADVrider threads, lots of good stuff there.

Hi Eric, welcome

Read up on the air filter mod, the first thing you need to do, if you ride in any type of dirt and dust. Lot's of info out there and a couple fixes.

Got any pics?

Eric,

I bought my Terra from AOMC also I don't think Jesse has had any of these on the MOSS yet. I too had good luck for the first 1500 miles but it did start the stumble or stall after that. I found someone who was getting rid of PCV w/auto tune for a good price and its the best mod I have done yet.

If you are around Charleston we should get together for a ride.

I'm up around 500 miles now, and still loving it. It does occasionally stall once or twice on startup, but no staslls after that. I guess it's about time for an oil change, and maybe an atttempt to seal the airbox and install a prefilter. Then I'll try opening her up. I live down around Greenville, SC---drove to Charleston to pick up the Terra.
