  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc Newer plastics for 2002 wr 250

Here is my 2000 wr360 (with '02 bodywork, thanks again dave!)

The newer side panels pretty much bolt right up, the holes were a little off, but I was still able to get them in without too much trouble

As far as the tank goes, measurements are pretty hard to do because the frames are different and there is no same point of reference on both bikes. I removed the rubber wheels and test fitted my ims tank

As far as the post at the back of the tank, I think the best thing to do would be to test fit a tank like this, and then just mark a spot on the frame through the hole on the tank. The post is about 1" high.

The stock tank fits a little better

Taking a look under the tank the rubber wheels look like they need to be about 1" above the existing ones and also an inch or so narrower.

There also might be a clearance issue with the forks hitting the tank at full lock but I can't tell for sure because the steering stop broke off.

Hope that helps

Jeff,
360 is looking good. Here is a picture of what I did with my 02 cr250. I used the new style 449/511 front fender and number plate with
cemoto tank and side panels and 12 wr300 rear fender. Wave rotor on the front with the zipty sharkfin/caliper mount on the rear with the
big 240mm disc. Fast by Ferracci triples and handlebar clamps with a few FBF ti bolts also. Engine going in soon.
Motoplastics was great to deal with on the tank and side panels. If anyone wants to update plastic on old machines I would look at this option also.

Looks great dave, nice and clean. I've got a 449/511 front fender/number plate on order for the 250. Apparently some people don't like the style, but I think they look good.
