• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Northwest Fall Gathering Round 2 - China Hat / Bend Oregon Oct 2011

It is both of our birthdays in October and she wants to go to Vegas - I have my work cut out for me!
Tell her it is my birthday too, and OregonSage's birthday. :)

(It depends on what people like or what they are in the mood for, but Vegas has little appeal for me, you mileage may vary)

End of the month sounds good to me,we will have a large group coming up, start rolling in on Thursday, staying till Sunday. We will see you at camp 25, don't plan on going to sleep early if you camp close to us, just come over and join the party. Sounds like this thing is going to be allot bigger then last year, good times!

Will there be any bikes there to demo or test ride? In particular a 2011-12 CR150? A non-husky rider is asking on the OMRA site.

So are we set on the last weekend or is it still up in the air. I have to request vacation time 30+ days out and the earlier I get it put in the better chance of it getting approved.

It will definitely be the last weekend in October.

There is no way to determine what bike there will be to demo at this time. I can safely say that the chances of riding a variety of Husqvarna bikes that other riders might be bring will be high. They are a friendly bunch. :)

Keep in mind the 2012s could be available by late October.

I'm planning on being there Sat/Sun, with my fiance' She'll be on a Yamaha though :) And I've invited a friend from Bend who rides a KTM, we'll just have to show him how great the Husky family is :)

I had my brother ride the TXC511 in the WORCS race at Washougal. He normally rides a KTM 250 2 stroke so he thought the 511 felt weird (he has ridden big 4 strokes in the past)... I said yep, you weirded your way into a battle for 2nd in the 50A class and were gaining fast on 1st before the flat tire one lap before the end :-)

In case anyone is still interested....the planned Bend OMRA (Oregon Motorcycle Riders Association sanctions many Oregon/WA off-road events) event the weekend of Nov 5-6 has been moved to the Jacksonville, OR area (this was a question someplace earlier in the thread which I finally got a firm answer about)
