• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Now that you bought the TR650 - where ya gonna go?

I had a good ride today, rode some mountain bike / trekking type tracks, few cool jumps and fish tails going on in there, and then went to the beach. The beach was one of those gravel ones instead of sand... heaps of cool looking hills and stuff. Right, I thought, I will have a bit of that.

Went down the hill and thought, hmm, this seems very soft, started to go back up the hill... stuck. Spent the next 5 minutes trying to get it un-stuck. Was a mission. Then had to walk along side the bike with it wheel spinning its way back out of embarrassment :)

Going to be in NYC for a few days in January. Would be nice if the Tesla museum at Wardenclyffe was up but I think it is still being developed

Yea they jus got the money raised for that not to long ago, Im excited about it also. Ill go check out the site later and post some pics. There is a few cool places to explore over there.

Leaving tonight for Gerlach, Nevada from Washington State. While I've been to Gerlach many times on my FJR...I'm planning a special adventure trip on the Husqvarna by way of Steens Mountain, specially planned fuel stops, about 80 miles of unknown off-pavement riding, and soaking in primitive hot springs.

Should be fun.

Hopefully, after this weekend I'll have some similarly interesting Huskie photos as these on the playa and traveling back and forth.

Are you going via Alvord Lake and Black Rock Desert to Gerlach? I love this Area. The Terra is made for that!
Bring some warm clothing, nights been getting rather chilly there.
Have a great trip.

Well technically I didn't buy one but I took a Strada to Paint Bank VA for lunch today. About 350 miles round trip.

Didn't make it to Alvord Lake, but did ride the Black Rock from Denio Junction to Gerlach via Summit Lake Road and the playa. And it was cold as I kept flirting with snow level on the ride--especially around Steens Moutain at about 4:00 in the morning. I had a layer of fleece on, two pair of socks, electric clothing, snowmobile gloves, and was still getting a bit cold.

Pictures are in this thread.

That's one hellava demo ride.

Yeah, I'm the sales manager at the shop so I guess I can do that every now and then. Liked the bike really well, needs a seat for that many miles though. 60MPG on the tank I checked, I could see me having one.

Any chance you could take it to Rexxer in Yorktown?
