• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Öhlins Shim Stack

AA Class
Does anyone know what shims should be in the shim stacks in the shocks for a 250/82 and 430/82 - or will I have to guess. My 3 pair of shocks has id nr 2x HA920 and 2x HA 1768 and 2x HA9201
Maybe anyone has a kind of Husqvarna shims stacking chart where all type of piggybag shocks are.

Best regards to all from Sten Nielsen

Hej Sten!
Not what you asked for really but this list of shim p/n's may be of some help .
I think I've seen a service letter or similar note, of how to stack shims on '81 shocks
to replicate how they are stacked in '82 shocks. Sorry I can't be more precise.

I would be happy if you will send a copy off the spec sheet HA4520 either here or to my email sten109@live.dk

I have the HA 9201 stacks if you still need them. I don't recognize the other numbers as 82 250 or 430. Pic of the shocks or their original fitment and I can probably get you close.

*For your size, I'd recommend replacing the 24.2 in the comp stack with a 26.2. This will partially close the bleed holes. They are pretty loose with stock valving. If you have no shims and are buying, then just use 2 holes in the 32.2d. That's not a 100% equivalent stack but very close.

Hello Picklito thanks again.
I go with this set up and i buy a new set springs and it work very good. And now i will try to put a set of Race tech gold valves FEGV-3801 in my front fork but i need a spacer FEPV-AD3802P witch i can not buy here in Denmark so if anybody have a drawing with dimentions in mm i will be very happy.
Best regards from Sten

Hi,
I saw an old post where you offered some spec sheet information for Ohlins Husqvarna HA4520 - 250/430 CR - 1980-82 - 445mm long 155mm stroke. Do you still have this? If so, I'd appreciate it if you could email them to me at: dwaltman@wi.rr.com. I'm just starting a rebuild on a 1982 CR390 and will need to refresh the shocks. Thanks, Dennis
