• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE/TC Oil used

Great opinions and experiences and knowledge guys thanks, any more info just send it, i like it. Yes dex merc thin no doubt, but not yet made an opinion if thicker is better just yet.

Been using Motorex 2T at 50:1 and the recommended Bel-Ray EXL Mineral 4T in the slushbox. Potent combo.
Runs crisp and and the shifting is electric smooth........I will be sticking with this regiment.

(Thinking out loud) I guess my quest isnt so much that my bike "hooks up" per se, i have a good clutch, its about what cleans/carries fibers away and protects gears. Gear box doesnt turn fast i wouldnt think, like a motor does, but does a small race motor heat up more than a car tranny and thats why guys are against atf in a small bike? Just curious, please understand im not trying to push buttons to those that have little control over emotions, if your out there haha

Ok i misread, sorry.

I don't use it but that's what they (recluse) told me as well. dino oil for my recluse...TE300
.I use maxima moto oils exclusively MTL XL 75 in the trans and super M for 50:1 premix in pump premium (which here has as much as 10% ethanol shite) with proper jetting, zero unburned splooge oil, but dry sooty black at exhaust nozzle, so on the rich safe side.

Nope......not combining pre-mix and gear oil in the tranny.

I see very little splooge tar running Motorex, burns clean, not a chance of fouling a plug.
And this is with equal parts trials/rock crawling, and 6th gear throttle pinned, fire lane speeds.
Good plug color...

So far I really like the Bel-Ray EXL 4T Mineral oil. I buy the Motorex at the KTM dealer just down the road, simply
because it's convenient and I can drool over the various bikes, sleds and ATV/UTV's when I stop in.
Been ordering the Bel Ray under the Husky manual advice......from Dennis Kirk Inc.. I'm so close
to them that I place an order one day, and it's on the door stoop the very next. Haphazard oil
procurement. Good, top notch lubes coupled with frequent oil change intervals, correct carb jetting...... and
you really can't go wrong. Maxima, Spectro, Bel-Ray, Motorex, Amsoil........pick a smell!
