  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Two months. That is it. I go the hole winter with no problem.

Not that going a whole winter is a good thing...
If it was mixed for two stroke it would be pushing it.

Two months will be fine just add some new when you get a chance.

I always add some Sta-bil to all my fuel and make sure that the carbs are drained after each ride. I have had fuel sit in the fuel tanks for four months without any problems this way.

Fill it up with fresh gas [premium] & you will be fine.

Fuel issues...

I was lectured/informed by a "Master Marine (Volvo-Penta) Mechanic" :notworthy:a few months ago about fuels when the family FourWinns had major fuel system issues. He went into great detail about current laws/mixtures/water content (yes there is water in fuel)/and shelf life (2 weeks for most brands), etc.. Much went over my head. :excuseme: You can read these to start:

Star, I use this in my boat now: http://www.starbrite.com/whatsnew/STAR BRITE ethanol p3072D2.pdf

Seafoam, I have used this for years in my car/bikes/even lawn mower:
http://www.webbikeworld.com/sea-foam/

Last, he said that Chevron (he does not own stock ;)) is the best formulated fuel for boats and recreational vehicles. Longest shelf life and burns well. Use the Super.

That's my $0.02:cheers:

The March issue of Dirt Bike mag had a short article about fuel. The same article briefly discussed Starbrite Startron fuel additive. Had never heard of it before. Apparently it is better known in the marine world. Might have to give it a try. I have always used Stabil.

I have heard good thing about Chevron Fuel as well because of the Techron additive. Unfortunately in the area where I live and ride, it is hard to find a fuel station that doesn't sell E-10. In addition, I don't think that plus and premium moves much around here (especially in this economy), so I am not sure that it is even that fresh coming out of the tank. I have definitely gotten bad premium a few times.
