  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

ordering a new bike.

When a dealership orders a brand new 2010 510 super moto from say the northwest for a customer, where does it come from and how long should it take? Does the dealer make a order over the phone and get a tracking number and the bike is sent right away or does where ever it comes from wait till there is a bunch of orders going that way and zig zag across the united states stopping at every dealership and take as long as they possibly can knowing some one cannot sleep at night waiting every second by the phone for even a maybe, it will be here in 3 wks? I do not understand why a person should have to wait a week plus to hear if the bike has been shipped or when it will be here or am i just impatient? Anyone know the process?

The bikes are ordered by phone and usually take a week to get to the west coast. I know Taskys has a SM 510 on the floor I would give Jeff a call and skip the waiting game.

Are they shipped private carrier or via husky truck?
The dealership told me they ordered it monday and
they would call me to confirm.I did not hear from
them all week.So today i drove to the dealership in
person just to see what was going on.(By the way
the bike is paid for except tax and license)They told
me they have not heard anything and they dont know
when? Is this the way it works? If so then i will not
worry about it. Thank You

Depends if there are 2010 510SMR's in the warehouse or if they are on the next shipment from Italy,....either way communication and tracking from HSQ NA is bismal at best.
