• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Our new 449/511 seat

Not to hijack the 511 thread, but what will the configuration of the TR seat be? It could be a bit more rounded off just aft of the transition from the tank.

I installed mine with an craftsman stapler and 3/16" can be had at any hardware, lowes, home depot, etc
Take your time and it will be pretty and feel so much better.

Thanks for the info. I will continue to look for 3/16 staples. I have been unsuccessful at any hardware including Home Depot, Lowes, and online. Do you know the brand and part number of the staples you used?

I checked, and I used 3/8" stanley TR45. Worked just fine. My seat has been on awhile, about 400 miles, looks as
Good as the day I put it on...

Radar,

The 3/8 staples are what we use.

I found the right staples at Harbor Freight right next to the wide crown staple gun. The stapler was on sale for $22.00, so I was out the door for $27 with a box of staples and tax.

Worked like a charm. Finally got to test it and man what a difference!!! Me and my best side thank you for a truly comfy solution.

Just did a 350 mile day with my new TE449 seat. I was great up to the 200ish mile point. 200-270 was mildly uncomfortable. The last 80 miles of highway back home really sucked though. Overall it's way better than stock. A 100 mile day on the stock seat had my butt screaming in pain.

Before the seat concepts seat, 20min., was a long time, but still were not riding gold wing here.
100 miles on these bikes is a long way.

I have done a few over 200 mile days on mine with the SC seat. Was bearable but yes starting to not be fun. I would have been crying with the stock seat with I found OK.

Looking for another SC custom seat for a TE511. If you didn't think the last one you made for me was challenging, this one surely will be. On the SC mold for the 449/511's, the seat doesn't extend all the way to the outer plastics in the rear and I would like to have one that did. This is very uncomfortable for me to ride with my leg constantly rubbing against the outer corner of the plastic. Do you think you could make one like this?

I want the rear half of the seat to meet with the edge of the plastics as shown in the lower picture. The seat doesn't extend all the way to the outer plastics in the rear and I would like to have one that did. This is very uncomfortable for me to ride because I ride so far back on the seat.
