• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Out and About (Terra, Strada)

Start of the week took a few days off and went in search of some twisty roads in the Victorian High Country - pleased to report I found lots.

You know when you see a sign like this its going to be a good day.Start of a good day.jpg

Based myself in Omeo for 2 nights, first day did the Mitta Mitta, Lockharts Gap, Mt Beauty, Falls Creek loop. 340 kilometres of great sealed twisty roads - 6 hours in the saddle :D

Day 2 back up to Falls Creek, down to Mt Beauty, across to Bright then along the Great Alpine Rd across Mt Hotham before stopping in Omeo for lunch. 270 kilometres of fun. Then headed home along the back roads.

Great area to explore for those that like sealed roads. For those that play in the dirt there are heaps of tracks to lose yourself on. An area well worth exploring.

Four day trip through the Victorian Alps. 240kms of gorgeous scenery, river crossings and some of the toughest off road riding.

The TR was flawless. Bounced around a bit on the rocky sections and clunked when I bottomed out over the jumps but handled the rough terrain very capably.

This is not really "out and about" but I had a great experience today meeting up with another Terra owner in Ventura. We happened to meet by chance and spent some time trading info/stories. He was asking about my FI mods. He has a spoofer and it's not doing so well. I let him ride my bike to see how it compared and he came back with the statement "it's night and day different". Now I think he's looking to to upgrade from the spoofer. If he decides to go with a PCV I'll help him get it sorted out.

We exchange biz cards and hopefully will get to do a ride together. This guy (Len) told me his brother has a Husky TR also.

He told me he has 20+k miles on his Terra (on the left), NICE!

Hello Everyone,

The 3 images above are from a Solo Ride on Jan. 23 from Tagaytay, Cavite to Taal, Batangas. I'm a 67 year old photographer that has shot on the street since 1991 in such places as Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Morocco and here in the Philippines. I rode to the Heritage Town of Taal, Batangas to drop off some prints to my subjects that I had photographed in the Taal Market about a month earlier. After giving away the prints I continued riding around and came across Dado Ona's - Batangas Blades Store as seen on Discovery Channel's "Ride N' Seek Philippines" - Butterfly Knife Episode with Jaime Dempsey. I spent an hour with Dado and had a great talk. I also took some portraits and he will have his copies on Feb. 6th.

SORRY - Missed signing off in my above post.

Although not bike related, I have attached some of my images of the people of Taal. I always return within 2-4 weeks and present each subject 2 each 4R prints as my way of saying Thank You. I have been doing this for 25 years and my batting average of returning prints is 90% in 4 countries. Regards to All Here and I hope that I did not take up too much space, Chris in PI

Hi Chris

Nice photos  . What tyres are those on the terra? I'm looking for something more road biased than the Mitas E07 I currently run. Also, what is that metallic cylinder on lower right hand side of the radiator?
