  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Oval Case Motors

Thanks Crash, The dowel was smaller than the original hole , just there so Garret had some support for the melted alum. I used a mill bit to re do the well on a drill press, i sold my mill years ago. Then used a Dynafile to finish the profile, I think it is awesome! Garret is the Father of our God-Daughter(Just say Pull Nicole!), been welding for 40 years. The first thing he said was " Cast Aluminum" then grabbed some rod and 5 min later was done. Not enough of those guys around.

Crash thanks for the heads up, I have talked with Matt a few times. Nothing wrong with Johns fenders but they are for the Cross. Looks like a call is in order. I have searched for a while and did not think of him. I'll need the longer one for the Enduro. Thanks and Merry Christmas to ALL You Great Americans.!!Chris

Got the head and cylinder blasted and painted. Can finally close this motor up. Crank tune is .0005.:D All trans parts were in great condition. All new bearings, seals and gaskets. New piston, pin, bearing and ring. New clutch with aluminum plates. Still have some cleaning on the rest of the bike. Anyone know what these stamps on the head mean?

Got the second motor apart. Gonna need a right stub and the kick lever stop re-welded. Some smart ass drilled and tapped the hole to put pieces of hose on a stud! Missing the 8 speed push rod and the clutch is toast! Just another Full Monty!!

I sourced some stuff from www.husqvarnavintage.com Had to wait a bit for the rod kit, but usually have decent stuff. They even have used parts listed periodically. That and eBay, hours and hours of eBay. Not long ago I actually found a front Radaelli still in original packaging. Happy to help out if I can.

So I got the bike running and the clutch didn't work, I mean no matter how much far out I took the tensioners it wouldn't start to feel like any tension. So I drain the oil and pulled the clutch cover. WTF!!! This was a brand new pressure plate for the brand new clutch I guess the adjustment screw was too long? It was the only thing that was changed. Oh well, I put in another pressure plate on it got it all adjusted while the cover was off, replace the cover and the oil. Started and rode down the street. Found I forgot to scratch the new aluminum clutch plates so she spins when she with some throttle!! Looks like she's got to come apart again but at least I'm getting better at it.

Found that i didn't have the nuts tight enough on the clutch and my adjustment was out, now she rips:banana: and that's in both speeds! So I started on the other 360 enduro c motor. The cases are in pretty good condition. Once again the clutch cover needs to be welded. It will get new bearings, seals, rod kit and piston/ring. Got most of the stuff but with the shut down of the state not sure when i can get it welded. We'll see. Chris On the plus side the liquor store now delivers!!:busted:
