• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

PC Plastic "Clean up" Kit

I understand the desire for these. I am a vintage guy through and through. Please keep in mind discussing here that there are sponsors who spend good money to advertise here and do business here. Please do not turn this into something that a paying advertiser that helps make this free forum possible gets rightfully upset when someone is legitimateley not only talking about their product but selling it and for "Alot of $$$ out her...." comments can be a small thing that set a sponsor off. Not nagging anyone at all...just trying to prevent anyone from seeing this the wrong way. West Coast has the originals. Please PM him to get the real deal.

Thanks.
(and yes...would also like some too)

??????? I'm a little confused . I thought West Coast was going to get replica kits of old PC plastic products that hadn't been made in ages . Nobody stocks this stuff as far as I can tell . If somebody does then I'm sure we would be more than happy to purchase from them instead of going through the hassle and expense of mold making , limited runs , etc. . So whose toes are being stepped on ? If somebody is selling these products that so many of us are intersted in , let them sing out and they will make a bunch of sales . Am I missing something ?

Yes.
Please re-read my post.
No one is making these as of now but several companies were mentioned in the course of this thread.
How many sales and how much I will make is what a company calls marketing research.
If west Coast is doing this then fine but it appears to be dead. No post by him since April.
Lots would love the PC stuff but...

I have PM'd WestCoast several times... his most recent response earlier this year is that this would be on hold indefinetely at least until this fall... he gave no reason.... so for now ... this is on hold .

In the meantime If someone else has a PC Rear Fender and wants to explore the option of having these made .... it seems like there is enough interest/ information in here for that purpose...

Halffast.... so there is no confusion again, and as Joe stated above... several companies were mentioned. All companies doing business $$$$ in this forum are able to easily become a CH sponsor.

Thanks for clearing it up , guys . I'm a little slow on the up-take sometimes ( just like on the track) =) .

$600.00-$700.00 IS THE REAL COST PER MOLD

Ah, it must depend on who you are and what part you are looking to have made. I had a few three wheeler guys tell me a much higher figure. I'm sure it depends on the size of the mold and the time required to cut it out as well.

Hello T, no they're not common at all, quite rare I think. I hardly see them, in fact I was tempted to buy this rear mudguard and squirrel it away but then I figured that was unfair and better to leave it for someone who would actually use it.

The UK importers for UFO are http://www.mdracingproducts.co.uk/ and they are incredibly helpful. If you sent them a picture i'm sure they would research and advise whether they can get it.

Kind regards
Lucien.

Ahh so PC plastic has been talked about.. I have an old PC rear fender but it doesn't look right without the side covers that match.
