• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

So I just pick up the new 15 te 300. What oil do you guys use in the motor and how often do you change it? Also when is the break in period done?

Congratulations..nice bike.

Oil is fairly subjective and debated a lot.

I use rotella T6..but most oil NOT energy saving will work.
Most play it safe and use motorcycle specific oils but I've had
good luck with rotella.

Change intervals are also subjective..and depends on use. I change
every 4 hours. Again depending on how hard I am on the clutch.

OH NOOOOOO
an oil thread.....

Me in ALL my bikes (8), from a 1973 Honda CR250 to my 2015 TE300, two stroke and four, I run Shell Rotella T Blue Jug (synthetic)
All I run in all the bikes.

I change it every 3 rides, hard race, or 100 miles on the clock.
Not a lot in there, a Quart + of it is worth the price of any possible failures.

Break in?
Manual lays it out pretty well - if you follow that procedure, some run it and get it hot, check the bolts, let it get cold....make sure the jetting is good....then go man, GO.

Spectro sx pint to five gallons and golden spectro clutch saver two stroke gear oil depends on the day. 80 wt light viscosity or 10/30. I think any company still in business is OK but I have been running golden spectro products for 25 years with no failures.....and so did Fred hoses....lol

iv used a butt load of spectro in 45 years fork oil to chain lube good stuff just got hard to find round here filled in with bel-ray till some buddies started dealin amsoil

oops..we are talking 2 stroke oil.
These oil threads at least give us something to talk
about when nothing else to do.
.LOL

I use amsoil interceptor.

gearbox oil? trail riding every 15 hrs, brand new bike change out early if racing say second event.
2 stroke oil any good brand name full syn.
AFT works well in 2 stroke gearboxs

bread in, just ride it as you normally would just avoid a long stretch at max rev for the first ride or 20 mins, after that all good
