• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Where was that?? They get you for spark arrestor???

Yep. Rowher Flats OHV. It just opened Nov 8. I should have known.

I forgot about the dang thing, it blew out a few weeks ago, and I emailed Leo Vince about it but never got an actual price and then sort of forgot about it.

My LV didn't have one in it when I got it, even though it had the USFS stamp on it, so Eric made one out of some screen we had lying around. It was free and I'm assuming it works great, as I've yet to set fire to any forests

I got a ticket about a thousand years ago on a borrowed Suzuki RM80. The ticket was for speeding (30 in a 15mph zone at Carnegie SVRA) and no SA. The judge at my mandatory court appearance said "Guilty on both counts. $1000 fine. Next!" I couldn't believe it. That was way more than the actual bike was worth.

Ouch, I sure hope it's not a grand. I've heard anywhere from $60 to 800 for the SA.

I may do that as well seeing as how the LV one only lasted 3k miles or so.

Here is one of me and my 610 from saturday out near Barstow. It was it's first desert trip, the bike did great.

How bout a rdierless Husky. Put the JD jet kit in it, gave her a lot more power, she just up and tried to fly. I think the TE snuck into the Red Bull while I wasn't looking. I was going up the hill, started to get away from me and I grab a little throttle, whoops, I prayed as she flew thru the air. No damage, jumped on it and rode her down the hill. Carnegie is dry as hell.

Man these Huskys are amazing machines. What other bike can go riderless sideways across a hill while pulling a wheelie then stop and hold the pose long enough for you to go get you're camera?:D

She is one amazing beast.

Wow, you got very lucky with how the bike landed, it could have been a lot worse.

Very cool little bit of video. I need to get a helmet cam bad.

It launched in the air, I thought ah shit, shouldn't have done that. She landed in a rut facing downwards, amazing. Jumped on the bike and rode off. My lucky day:thumbsup:

Your Frankenstein fix on the left shroud is coming undone

thank you.

I've gone through 3 lower shrouds and the two I have now need replacing. I've gone through 4 upper shrouds and the two I have now need replacing. I've given up on keeping the bike looking nice. The cost of replacing these shrouds is not worth it. Every little branch or tree will take it out instantly. It is a bad design and the lower ones are a very brittle plastic. All this in 14 months of ownership. Not one of them has broken from a crash or fall which I do regularly.

Fun bike though.
