• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Pics of your 610!

1998 TE610. Just got back together after a freshening up with new piston, rings, valves and some other bits. Found a hairline crack in the lower triple, so currently looking for another lower, or a complete front end to swap. Also looking for a set of passenger pegs/ brackets. If anyone has either, let me know.20200425_175159.jpg

My `07 SM610 in dirt trim. Did a little ride in my backyard and stopped to take a look at these Giants in Sequoia-Kings Canyon National Park...

Took my "spare" 610 out for a spin a few weeks ago. Think I'll keep this one in SM trim and leave my red SM in dirt trim. This one has about 6000 miles on it...it still feels new! This one also has my lowered, re-sprung and revalved SM suspension on it from my red one, and the original full-length suspension from this one is on my red one. I needed the extra room for the dirt wheels. I'm 5'1"...I have no idea how I keep my dirty red one upright...

Recently did a 4-week 3600-mile road trip through Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana. This is my first ever dual sport and the trip was my first time riding off road. Had a helleva time, it's hard to jump back onto my Ducati 748 now!

Which front headlight is that?

First of all Sal_thee_man, awesome first Dual Sport adventure, you're living the life! Great Pic's also!
The headlight setup on my bike came from me, what I mean from that is I didn't like the wind blast from the stock headlight, it directed the wind right into the bottom of my helmet (chin area). I don't do real long stretches on the tar but anything over 40 mph sucked, so something had to be done! I watched a video from a guy in OZ who built his own sort of "Rally" screen setup, that motivated me to build my own. Aluminum from Home Depot a screen off of ebay and some lights from amazon, some simple hand tools and a few extra hours of free time and there it was. It works better than I had hoped for in getting the wind blast off my chest and chin, the air around my helmet is clean all the way up to 75 mph. BAM! now the bike is a highway bike, well not really, knobbies suck at speed.

It looks great. Do you have a link to the video and the lights you used? Also, are you using a plexiglass? I'd love to eliminate the wind buffeting at highways speeds as well.

Very cool pictures.

Went up to the NC/Tennessee borderline to celebrate my fiftieth and the wife’s new job.
Even though I had a terrible backache I’ve decided to take a few hours off from the Mrs. to go and try to tackle the Tail Of The Dragon... I wasn’t entirely sure that I’ll be able to lift my leg high enough to get back on the 610 after every time I got off of it but hot damn it was so worth it!!!

This is my 610 ´98 tee, rebuilt engine, it works very well but I have a hard time starting hot, cold starts very easy.

2000 model, but 2001 on the papers, and 2 more dates to choose from.... Former competition super moto. There is not much off road in the Netherlands, so decided to keep him (or is it a her?) as super moto, despite i have the complete off road wheel set. I made it a mix between super moto and rally. So i have a little more then the standard 9 liter. By using 2 Acerbis auxiliary tanks i added 5 more liter, which is enough in my small country. And he also look less bulky then a real rally motorcycle, so i keep the light look of the super moto.
