As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
Somebody on the ADVRider thread said that his KLR was the 2nd to smallest bike on the Carrizo Plains ride. Was your 630 the smallest?First camping trip off the Husky. Great weekend and the bike did great. Time to fork out for the Safari tank I'm afraid.

Now we're talking. Love me some baja! Heading that way in roughly a month. I see no camp gear and a stock tank. Any fuel range issues with the stocker 3.2. Planning on bringing my 1.5 kolpin just in case. A person can't post too many baja pics so lets see them.![]()
My wife and I carried fuel in our back packs along with water,View attachment 13904 food and some warm clothes. We had a group of seven and most of our gear was in the chase truck.
Day One of the trip from Tecate to Cabo.
You inspired me. Mine was an all white one. After 1 1/2 seasons, the white was getting pretty beat.Looks kinda familiar...

Yeah, I used PlastiDip. So far so good. I only ride when it's really nice out. I figured if something gets boogered up, it's not hard to redo. I have a feeling the front end will take a beating in the summer with all the bugs. I was thinking about getting the "husqvarna" decals that came on the flat/graphite 610 shrouds, but I'm not sure if they'll stick to the PlastiDip.
Did you use PlastiDip? How's it holding up? I laid mine on pretty thick, not a scratch yet.
They should, I put some Ebay Husky gray decals on mine and they've held up fine. I got a pair of red ones too for if I get frisky...Yeah, I used PlastiDip. So far so good. Have been told that Plastidip does not take kindly to fuel. Have you had fuel over your Plastidip painted tank? Was it ok??
(I´ve ordered a can and will try it out on some old side panels first).
