    WR = 2st Enduro & CR = 2st Cross

  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

    Thanks for your patience and support!

2014 CR125 when I picked it up at Halls a couple of weeks ago.

Now setup with FMF Fatty and Turbinecore SA, 38mm Lectron, 6.0 rear spring, and flexx bars. Only needs bar end mount kit for the barkbusters. After this Saturday, it will never look this pretty again.

we are having spring like conditions here (55 and nice) and was out testing my reworked suspension on my new to me 02 CR250. Bike is working fantastic.

Rub it in why don't you:(. I'm looking at -12 and 30" of snow in front of the door to my bike shed. Still waiting for a fresh top end and some ride time.

Look what I found on some old emails ... A couple more pics of my 02 CR250 ... Sing it with me .... She's-a-bad-majama.

This bike came from a friend of BMP who raced SX in the PNW area ... Maybe that was why it was the suspension was so hard .... I'd forgot but I did spend a couple hundred $$ to get forks worked on ... That helped some but I should took it back and that guy try again ... Or maybe dropped the oil levels :) ... I was working 10hrs a day, 5 days a week (maybe 6) with 2.5-3 hrs travel time both ways ... Doesn't leave much time for anything but sleep when at home and ONLY hammer time when I rode the 1 day, maybe 2 days each week. I'm certainly glad that ~decade of work is over and it did pay dividends for me that I'm spending now.

Seems to be a thread or 2 where some are infatuated with this bike ... CR means 'Close Ratio'... that's the same CR tranny I've seen cried about for yrs out here. Just a little weird sounding to me ... And there is nothing nice about the engine ... No soft 4t feel, no easy power delivery unless short shifted .. Just 0-7,000 RPMs almost instantly... Almost a deathtrap in the woods when you tried to pin the throttle in 2nd and 3rd gears. Yea baby ... Its a 250cc 2t!!!

Would I trade my current 08 WR250 for this bike? Nope ... My 08 WR250 sits right-very-close with that bike engine wise, lugs a slight bit better, and turns 100% better for some reason. The 2C racing pipe did push the CR engine ~past my WR I think and I hope to get another 2C racing pipe for my WR someday ... I have one back home in WA and if I can ever get my hands on it, I'll have it cloned here.

My son jacked me out of this bike or I might be riding it today :(
