  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Post up pictures of your 4 stroke bikes!

Ford40 ... I hear ya.. it gets even worse at 57.. ;( Couple of weeks ago rode a 44 mile kinda "mini-enduro", almost all brand new vrigin tight single track...(and of course the de-rigueur NJ whooped out sections, just to make sure you're really BEAT) wacked a tree at abt the 35 mile mark. When I finally finished I couldn't turn my neck to the right, at all. Good thing I was with my friend (user: 'need2boat' on here) we trailed to the start together and I was driving, he was my "eyes" looking to the right!! LOL, I could not turn to look down the road at all...

And of course at the finish, most bikes are already packed away... peope have changed and they're all pumped, partying and smiling away... Me? I'm looking for oxygen, morphine and a stretcher! :) But, it was FUN!!!

I am 46 and just got back into riding after about 25 years. My above pictures came from my first real ride last week in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan...A week long ride with my brother and a couple of his friends. Funnest thing I have done in years but I definitely feel my age! Funny how as a kid never cared what I hit or rode in. Now I watch the ground like a hawk for everything and my arch enemy...Sand. Forgot how to ride in the sand must look pretty funny going down the trail looking like a snake! Well 4 days after the ride and I feel that Husky seat still every time I sit down:eek: !! Good thing pain is only temporary. I will end mine as you ended yours....But, it was FUN!!! Can't wait till our next long trip.

Hey w2ge that was a silent protest ride  and I spent more time on the ground then you but I guess at 45 I'm the youg'in.

I'll post some pics once I get the bike back together. These husky's are great bikes but mines been: ride on weekend followed by fix on the weekdays. I've got the hot starter issue on the ropes so hopefully this trend will end.

Joe, that was the frustrating part for me... You're like the Energizer Bunny... You'd fall, get yourself and the bike in the worst position, (caught up against a tree-backwards!) get your bike back up.. and speed off, and then repeat! Me, I essentially only wacked that tree and had to get my bike up 2 times and I thought I was gonna die! :D:eek:

Yep.. ride and wrench, ride and wrench.

Well i have to say something is wrong here either we dont have lives and to much time on our hands to sit down a write stuff on the Cafe Husky forum and talk about riding ,how much it hurts when we come off , and issues with our bikes but this site seems to be blokes over 40 on this site .
1 Are we the only ones riding bikes
2 The only ones who can talk about our rides
3 The grest times we have doing this.
4 And our great pictures that are added to this site
5 or is it because we have been riding on the week end and now spending the week recovering whilst the young blokes are doing more than ride bikes . You get the idea

I know.. you've never seen a TE310! ;) 2011 with 12 port injector, JD Jetting 6X, Enduro Engineering Rad guards, FMF pipe.. fully uncorked, etc... Touratech mount for my Garmin Map60csx, heavier spring and suspension work for my weight (235... sheesh...) I'm 57 now and still love tearing around in the woods.. trouble is I'm so out of shape compared to when I was in my late 30's, early 40's riding Enduro's (on KTM and I was 40 lbs lighter..) I always wanted a Husqvarna since I was a kid and they took over in our country.. Torsten Hallman, etc...

Where did you get that stand?

Yep, got it off of FleaBay... I have since added 2 eyehooks to the front edge of the stand so that I can use tie-downs from the bars... keep them straight and extra added safety.

Just getting home with my new '08 TE450

Lots of little things to do to it... Need to adjust the idle, it flames out ALL THE TIME.... Need a new gasket/o-ring for the aftermarket gas cap. Needs a new seat, that stock seat is one rock hard SOB!!!
