  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Post up pictures of your 4 stroke bikes!

2008 SM450R
4500 miles zero issues.
PC3 w/ tune for arrow exhaust. Run 94 octane and have noticed a significant lower operating temp.
Still deciding if I like the all black..
Have a set of zeta handguards with blinkers im going to put on this weekend.
Just installed an LED rear blinker/turn/license plate holder. Made specifically for this bike pretty slick, and allows use of MX fender.

Looks good! Who makes the graphics and the plastics?
Got the white plastic and graphics on Ebay. # Plate backgrounds were done BikeGraphix. Ordered 2 sets of graphics by mistake. Paid $99 from some place in Europe. I'll sell the extra set for $60 shipped.

Hello,

Here is my 2011 TXC449 that I picked up in the spring. It is a super low hour one owner bike and was in great shape .... still has the OEM factory handle bar grips in great shape.

Since picking it up I have converted it to a dual sport using a TE449 headlight assembly, tusk enduro light kit and a sicass racing ignition key. I fit a used SMR akro muffler, did the danger mouse butterfly delete, new gearing/chain and a full service with new filters etc .... also tossed on a ricochet aluminum skid plate and some D606 tires and HD tubes (not shown).

I primarily ride fire roads and single track and the bike works great for what I do. Lots of power and very stable.

Cheers,
Ian

careful... you don't want that log to break and your bike to fall over. :D

Lol, one of the downsides of not having a kickstand when you have to "answer the call of nature". ;) I have a metal triangle stand that I sometimes carry in the backpack, but usually assume I can find something more natural to work in a pinch.
