• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

post your last purchase for your 630

Got those beauty last week... I'm happy with the radiator braces.. did the job very good yesterday in the mud
I tried to use 7602 rad guards on my 630 they pushed the fan back next to the valve cover and couldn't
connect the radiator hose and then the bottom of the guard hit the front fender.??.
Motosportz fit like a glove although not quite as strong.

Almost done putting on my leo vince exhaust 2 into 1 hoopla. Got it for 800 bucks. Still needs the carbon fiber bit attached. had to grind down one o the flanges up front because it didnt fit in there. Managed to lose a bolt to my fairings and now the fairings have a weird gap at the point where they meet the rear white ones... oh well. hope that isnt a sign of some huge issue.

Done installing jd tuner and braces for rear subframe, which I might add required some creative spacing/washer stuff to use with the leo vince set up on the left hand side of the bike. Anyoen got a good jd tuner setting for the leo vince 2to1?

so I finally made an order for the power up kit...which took a bit of convincing cause the dealers here aren't used to people asking for these things. kinda ironic since we're a pretty much anything goes country in terms of emissions. surprising that I may be the first one to ask for them :/

aaaanyways...can't wait for it to come in!! :D

You should order a JD tuner also!

It's not actually purchased yet, but...... I just talked to Berg at Backroads Moto and he is going to make up a right side rack for my Wolfman saddle bags that works with a single exhaust can and moves the rack in toward the center of the bike.

Old post of yours but I was wondering if you ever did get the right side rack from Berg for a single 630 exhaust?

I did get the rack but haven't installed it yet. That will change in the next week or so as I have a long ride coming up. I've been going rackless for a while just for fun. The rack looks perfect when I dry-fit it. I don't think there will be any issues bolting it up. I will carry a rotopax water or fuel can on the right side, and that's why I wanted the rack tightened up.

Is this a one off thing or can we order the rack this way too?

I think this was a one-off. Berg asked how much I wanted the rack moved, and I made some suggestions regarding the angle of the front brace in order to prevent it from obstructing the plastic side panel (as I recall I asked for it to angle down just a bit). Berg did a great job and I'm sure he could, and probably would, make additional units for single exhaust 630's. I'll try to get some pics posted by the end of this weekend.

I was contemplating supplying Berg with some measurements after talking to him about this but I'd like to just provide yours if that is OK.

How long ago did he fab this up for you?

Oh boy, I think it's close to a year now, but I would have to scroll back thru my posts to find out. My post on the subject was about the time I received the completed rack. I will go back thru my emails and try to let you know just what I told Berg. Give me a bit to do that.

OK, that didn't take long. Here is my last email to Berg Briggs explaining what I wanted. If you have any questions, ask away. Date was June 14 of last year.
(Quote)Berg, move it (the hoop) in 2" please. That will put the front tube behind the plastic panel. The tube also makes a slight angle "up" where it attaches to the sub-frame mounting angle, whereas the tube on the left side of the bike appears to attach almost horizontally. Changing the right hand side to be horizontal too would drop the tube below the bottom tip of the plastic panel. I presume that as on the WR250R frame you will bring the front tube in toward the middle of the bike along with the oval bag frame. I guess I'm rambling a bit here, just getting my thoughts on paper.

The limiting factor here is the stock grab loop. Moving in any more than 2" means the frame will contact the handle. It may even at 2", but I'll fix that by adjusting the loop a bit. The Rotopax are 3" and a 2" shift will make a definite difference.(Quote)

Thanks Ken,

Did you also have the rear cross brace made to connect each side bracket behind/underneath the rear fender? Photos would be fantastic if and when you have time since these could also be used along with your instructions to Berg.

A new cross brace was part of the package, and it extends behind the fender. The old cross brace actually fit my new home made TR650 Wolfman style racks perfectly, so it's in use now.

"Kush sprockets are Australian engineer designed and tested."

Mine needs replacing, so thanx for the headsup. I´m ordering tomorrow.
