• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Myself, Ken, Dan from DJ and 2 others all had the hanging idle issue. I still have it but have not removed my canister yet. I ride ti as is and it runs good and I'm not bashing the product just want people to be aware that you might need to deal with it. I have the PCV with autotune. Might try and remove the canister today.
 
When I get the PC5 is it possible to get one of you fine husky people who have the auto tune to send your map #'s over the net (email)? Don't even know if that's possible. So the cheap asses like myself can piggy back off your numbers lol.

Figure the PC is a much richer map from stock and you guys with the Auto Tune have fine tuned it. I realize not all bikes are the same but if 2 bikes ride at the same relative AGL and have the same climate, it should be pretty dam close.

Im guessing it would be like copying and pasting numbers from your spread sheet to the next. Not quite sure how it all works.

That's exactly why I'll add an autotune to mine once I've had it on the dyno. Its a long story but
I've not had my PCV re flashed yet. (my own fault)

No problem, already several maps floating around via our Emails with Dan from DJ. Very EZ to send as it is just a small file and you can load it. I have not saved my autotune file to view it in relationship tot he map it was shipped with.

Same here. I was saving everyones maps and created all of those spreadsheets and graphs from them...until I got the A/T hooked up.

I have a bunch of maps for the TR650, but here are a couple to get you started...

I've done PVC & Auto tune work before, highly recommend getting the Autotune if you are getting a PCV.

I've written up why in EFI/carb area, look for threads started by me there.
 
Maybe the wrong place for this but..
Does any one else find their exhaust gets uber hot,real fast.
My pipe is blue almost halfway to the cans. 5 minutes of idling you can't touch the mufflers.

Wonder if it because its crazy lean. The pc5 should cool it down a bit. Did anyone else notice their exhaust gets crazy hot and found a difference after they installed the power commander.

I agree Coffee. I played around with maps and settings and none of my fiddling worked as well as the Autotune does. After I activated it I was able to forget about it and just ride...
 
The hanging idle issue..is it now fixed with the auto tune? Thinking of the PC with autontune...I like the idea of set it and ride. I can never leave anything alone. My TR runs well now....but thinking there might be a little bit more to gain with the right tune...especially when exhaust become available. You guys that have the PC w/ auto are you constantly messing with it? Or able to enjoy? I'm itching to try it and see..
 
PC5 arrived today, will hopefully install it this weekend..

Question though, the wire that goes down to the rectifier area, there are two plugs. According to the instructions I am to only plug one of them in... is the other for if I have an autotune which goes to the O2 sensor or something?
 
The plug closest to the pcv goes right into the injector, the next plug goes to the TPS (pain to get to from side of bike up under the tank...but doable), and lastly two unterminated wires that go behind the rectifier.

Just curious what the cost of those two are? Please help get a bike to Rexxer. Talk to David, or Jeff or Abe, David is the owner and would do the programming.

$600 and you don't have to add anything to your bike, no adding wires, modules, weight or anything, and you get the added troubleshooting functions of the GS911. (they need to see a bike in Calif.) Granted, with the PC5 you can switch maps on the fly, but that is it for advantages.

Please tell me Terra owners aren't this dense.

I'm not terribly sure what your 'dense' comment was in reference to, hopefully not me.

Regardless, start up a Conversation (was called PMs) if you want to address me personally.
