• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE/TC Push button gas cap?

I have never had a problem with my 2012 ktm push button gas cap and rather like it. But have had people tell me lots that they do not like them. Just push button before you turn.

When I got my '12 Husaberg, the push button cap worked fine, but after a few months it got harder and harder to open. I have arthritis in both my thumbs and it hurt to push that hard. I was at the gas stop, during an enduro and was doubting I could open it! I was back at my truck, so I nipped off 2 tabs right there and it was all good. The cap on my '15 TE125 has worked fine so far, but I know what to do, if it doesn't!

Ive always hated those things and have fought with them on friends Katos, when I saw it on my 300 I already thought about the Norm fix, but this one on my 300 is really smooth. I used indelible marker to make line up marks and even put an arrow on my tank so I put the thing back on the same way everytime I pull it. It is a strange shaped thing and is counterintuitive to me, I always thought the low cutout should face the rider, but it simply does not...so what the heck is that low cut out side of the cap??? I install it the way I see it on all the oem advert fotos.
Exactly like this-

Makes me happy I have the TC! But you guys have about.8gal more which would be nice on those long rides.

added note I always push the unlock button with my first knuckle (if thats what you call it) not the tip of my thumb. Make sense?

put a smear of grease on the cap seal, it will work so much easier.
Same goes for the fuel hose disconnector, that little bugger is almost impossible to reconnect dry
