  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Radiator braces, who has them and who wishes they did?

I had to file and grind a little on the tabs of my new Chinese radiators to fit my BPD braces but not a big deal.

Oh... and I took a little off the bottom of the brace to fit the fatter radiators. So a little bigger deal. Dremmel tool with cutting wheel worked best.

You get composite? They have the little dohickey for the brake switch? Looks like it in the picture on their site, but I think someone here said the BR-103 comes without...
I have them on my TE511, works great, even with brake switch.

Those will be the ones I order, do you suggest the composite? Some say they flex a little too much for their taste.

Also, just ordering the breather kit. Filled it up with oil, rode around the block and left a trail of oil behind me coming out of the air box...

How have your Chinese radiators been? Do they look the part in real life?
I've been watching a set on eBay for a while, they're about 1/2 the price of Husky....

I like the Chinese radiators. They're stout and look just like they look on ebay. Mine were shipped from California and got here in a day or two. Ridden only a couple of rides but they work just fine. They come with a 1.1 bar radiator cap. Don't know how that would work as I'm using the stock 1.4 bar cap. When I tried the 1.6 bar cap my coolant didn't blow out the overflow, but did blow into my transmission through the water pump seal.
