  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Well the latest weather patern in N. CA has me bummed:banghead: I have a beautiful new bike in my garage saying, "Come hither & ride me" & all the good riding areas are closed because of rain! There is a place about 20 miles away called Knoxville or as my friend Eric refers to it, "Rocksville". I was going to go up there tomorrow but to be honest, it's such a crappy place, the rain made it not worth it:censored: Still may do it if it lets up just a tinsy bitt. Wish me luck:)

I went riding today in the rain. The only crappy thing about that was that I left a set of Fox Polarpaws and my Kodak camera in the campground. The camera won't be any good after a night out in the rain:censored:, but I'd still like to have it back anyway.

What you talkin' 'bout? We ride in torrential downpours up here. What is the problem? Gettin' soft?

Sucks on the camera 4 sure ... Rain riding can be good ;) ... IF ya gotta go, U gotta go!

I just read this on the MNF website this morning...

"The Upper Lake OHV Trails are currently closed through December 27, 2010 due to wet and muddy conditions. The Grindstone OHV Trails are open."

They had "open" in bold print! :applause:

Call Eric today and try to talk him into a ride tomorrow...please???

I drove the 72 miles to get out there this morning and found the camera....but it didn't work. Maybe it will in a week....maybe not. At least I got the soft case, batteries and memory card from it. Strangely, the gloves were nowhere to be found.:excuseme:

There you go, that should fit your frame a bit better :busted:
I’m sure the wife is happy to have her little sexy Yamaha back
Congrats on the new bike

DirtDame,

Coyotes and foxes love to play and chew on stuff like that. If we leave shoes or gloves and stuff lying around over night you would be surprised where we will find them, if we do. I am pretty sure the camera would not hold their interest. ;)

Well, I didn't find any pictures of coyote butts on my memory card, so I guess that you are right.

I know, this rain is a bitch! Actually caused me to get in a pretty bad crash with another car today, idk if it'll be totaled or not...

Looks like I won't be riding for a while...

I'll put some pictures up if you like.

Yes, the rain is really........I will ride somewhere this Thursday and next Sunday. Then the Hangover at Hollister on the 1st
Just think how epic the riding will be when this rain stops??

Mammoth Mountain, where we have a place got 66" yesterday, 38" the day before. Expecting another 60" or so by Thurs.
