• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

I'm still stock and getting about 150 to reserve, and 170 to filling up. Usually still a half gallon or so left.........

As in today I filled up within a few miles of the light coming on and it took 2.5gal.
 
WOW that is really great figures. Is everyone getting economy like this?

The reason I ask is that I am trying to work out how far I could get from a tank assuming Aqualine make a 23l (6 Gal) tank. And using your figures that would be 408 miles:applause:
 
Riding at a fun pace 90-100 miles before the light and it'll take about 2.5 gallons to fill at that point. Putting around upper 40mpg.

I can get 60 mpg, but it isn't always predictable and seems influenced by headwinds, amount of 70+ mph, and acceleration.

I usually calculate 50 mpg for planning trips and like to carry an extra gallon.

I'm completely stock and often carry camping gear. The gear doesn't seem to drop the mileage unless I'm on the slab at 70+.

132 miles on a tank, and then had about 1/2 gallon. Or around 50mpg.
Light seems to come on when it goes below 2 gallons, but its a good size reserve.

Off road on the gas, spinning the wheel, in the sand etc. it goes down to around 40mpg.

Thats an '08 with power up kit.
 
I am getting the same on the SM610 all tarmac. 55 to 60 MPG without PU kit. Have the PU kit know but as of late, no time to ride for a couple of weeks.
 
I've been keeping track on my iPhone (there's an app for that!)
I must be a squid cuz I'm sitting here with a broken collarbone, unable to ride, wondering why I'm getting crappy mileage. Oh, but then I remembered I have a 14t front sprocket.

I don;t have a lot of data yet cuz it's still new, And I haven't been able to ride for a couple weeks, but in 390 miles I've averaged 41.828 mpg and I've spent $29.421 which is $.075 per mile

Thats a lot of smiles per gallon.:D

:DEspecially if it’s in the SM dress, :p probably the same for those in the TE suit. ;)
 
I ran mine out to 130 miles one time and the light came on- I had to ride it until the next town at 150, and it took almost exactly 3 gallons. That was all 80 mph interstate. I have otherwise been getting between 50-60 mpg. Thats a stock SM610.
 
You guys must do a lot of street riding. I get about 90-100 miles before my light comes on -- I'm guessing 130 miles is max..I have an 08 w/PU kit..
 
Did 106 miles on Sunday w/ 35 each way to/from trailhead and had 4 miles on the odometer before leaving. The light was coming on 4 miles from home. So, a pretty consistent 95-100 miles before the light comes on, depending on how much ascent on a given ride. I'm running the Leo X3 with the O2 sensor removed (aka power-up kit)
 
Bike is new with less than 500 miles. Have the Leo Vince exhaust but not the PU kit. So far getting about 53 MPG with mixed highway and in town riding. Haven't hit the trails yet either. Goes to reserve around 130 miles.
 
I logged 150 miles on the interstate the other day on a tank. I filled up and calculated 58 mpg. I think de-catting the stock exhaust gave me a bit better.
 
I've put on 155 miles of dirt, fire road, trail, and rocky track and still made it safely back to civilization. Fuel light came on around 135, if I recall.
