  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Rear tail light - 08 te450

Pay attention, the brake light only turn on with the engine running! If engine off doens't work!

Yeah, and don't try and test it with a multimeter or it's even more confusing. With the ignition on and the engine not running, the tail light wire is at 12v and the brake light wire floats at 9v. Then when you activate the brake, the brake light wire goes to ground and the tail light goes out! :professor:

Where can I get one of these tail light assemblies for my 2009 TE510? What are they called exactly?

Just looking at a catalog for DRC Edge-2 tail light assemblies I see a few choices. Is the plastic-mounted universal one the right choice for the Husky? Part# D45-14-001 (red) or D45-14-002 (smoke).

So confuzzling!

I know this thread is getting old and will not remain forever so, I just wanted to put in my thanks as it helped me out a couple years ago. Thanks. As far as the poster above me, it was called the race tail light and came with the '08 power up kits.

I think it was made by UFO in case that helps.

I am a Godly man, so therefore I'm working on being a humble man. The problem was the light bulb. Don't ask me why both the running element and the stop element failed at the same time, but they did. I looked at the bulb yesterday and even got a second opinion as to it's condition. I didn't test the bulb yesterday, which is what I did this morning with a battery. Both elements were bad and a new bulb fixed the problem.
But I have to say that you guys came down on this problem like a hawk on a snake. Thanks for your help.
