  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Replacment clutch basket 08+ 450

Husqvarna
C Class
My 2008 TC 450 clutch hub and basket are totally worn :excuseme:

is this a weak point of the 2008 models? i had a 2006 with a lot of hours and never had this.

Does someone knows which aftermarket manufactorer makes these baskets? I already looked for a pro-x, talon, barnett, hinson, and fbf but they don't make them.

The original basket is to expensive because you also have to buy the attached sprocket (1100 dollar, 500-600 euro).

i hope to hear from you... thanks.

Mark :p

I am in EXACTLY the same position as you. If i cant find an after market one i will just file down the original.

I would also like to know where to buy a clutch master kit. I need one and husky quoted $170aud which is far too much for some seals and a spring.

EDIT: FBF has them, starting at 99 depending on your model. On TT most people paid 250 for the te450 replacement. I ahve emailed and asked for up to date pricin on the 450. will post here when its recieved.http://stores.ebay.com/Fast-By-Ferr...0QQ_sidZ64467880?_nkw=husqvarna&submit=Search

nice! i will wait until it is up the website.

i also send talon a mail yesterday, and today got a mail back that say they make a clutch basket for a 450 tc 08 . But i will have to contact my (dutch) importer so i will call them tommorrow. i will let you know when i know more!

Great looking forward to hearing about it.

If you find an after market inner hub that would be great too...so far the only one i found was rekluse in the rekluse pro :(

Talon replied to me that they dont make one for the 08te450 :( I got a message back from local bike shop who said they could get a talon one and its $360AUD with a 4 week lead time. I couldnt be bothered with all the mixed responses.

FBF do one and its $250usd - getting a pricing on shipping and will order one.

I gave up. I replaced the inner basket and my issues were all solved. Can get in and out gear VERY VERY smoothly, even though the out basket is very worn. The inner was extremly worn and i could see the steels grabbing on it. Is yours very too, try replacing that first?

FBF wont respond to email, send 2 or 3 normal email and 3 or 4 via ebay. Once they responded and said they had the basket for 250usd and could i give them my details for shipping quote. I supplied 2 or 3 times but they ignored me.

US guys on thumpertalk reckon call them and get great service, not so usefull for us OS customers.

Mine is VERY worn, i will need to replace it one day...have to find some one who can send me one :(

I notice my clutch parts all had Cagiva written on them, maybe this could open up opportunities to buy parts from another bike?

i just mailed FBF yesterday (ebay and their website) and they responded within a few hours!! i also asked if they could put up the 450 clutch basket on ebay and they did!! :applause:

But i also called my (local) dealer and he might have a clutch basket for me!! he will check it out this week for me. it will cost about the same as the fbf one. (but without shipping cost)

and yes i have to replace the inner hub, mine is also worn. but i am going to sell my bike and want that the clutch 100% good.

i will let you know when i know more.
