    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

The local dealer here, Ride Motorsports, seems to have gotten hold of a bunch of new 0 miles TR650s, both Terra and Strada. I think they have been buying out the stock of other dealers going out of business. They are selling the bikes for $6490. This has really blown the resale value of bikes in Seattle. I was feeling grumpy about the lack of spares support and was considering trading in the bike on something else. Two dealers said they would give me no more than $4500 trade in value. Kind of a drag when you consider that MSRP was $7499 for the Strada only a year and a half ago.

Even though Ride has new bikes on the floor, their parts guy said "I think you have to go to the BMW dealer for parts now." I briefly considered strangling him, but instead reminded him of the statutory requirement for a manufacturer to supply parts for 7 years in the US. The only part I have successfully obtained from Ride is an air filter. They have no oil filters or clutch cables, anybody having any better luck from a Husky dealer in getting parts?
 
4500 trade in is great for your situation.

I doubt you will be able to sell it for much more than that. Sorry to say. Luckily I was on the tail end with my bmw husky 511. I got it for the low price and thus financing it wasnt such a bad decision at that point. Anyways depends on how quickly you want a new bike. trade in = instant and move on cut your losses. Trying to sell you might get a bit more money, but will take a long time. These bikes all have a rather poor reputation on parts availability and service.

I was offered 4500 today in trade on a same year 690 Duke. Almost did it. I just don't see the duke as being anything more than a toy, where the Terra could do quite well cross country.
 
Local dealer had a Strada that was a demo bike at $4900. Your guy probably bought the new ones for around 5k and is probably charging freight and set up even though he likely rolled them off a trailer rather than opened a crate. As long as the new ones go for the asking price, private resale will be better for you, look on the bright side.
 
Similar issues all over the world....

Philippines original Strada price was 475K pesos or around $10700. Somewhat negotiable for cash.
I negotiated mine which was basically a one month old demo with 600 km and got it for 370K pesos ($8300) in September 2014.

I have just met a guy who bought his Strada brand new 2 days ago cash price 240K pesos ($5400)

On enquiry I was told the same dealer has now got 8 new Stradas available and would go as low as 1M pesos ($22600) for a bulk order of 5 bikes.
That equates to 200K pesos ($4500) each brand new and has blown the values out of the water.

I am tempted buy one and keep it original and unridden, but then again......One dog is enough.

Local distributor sell the Terra at 5590 Euros and 6190 euros for the Traveller kit edition.
I bought a Terra 3 weeks before.
I believe it is very good offer for this bike.
Only 2 Terra and 4 Strada left.
 
In Euros that is $6,390.49 in us dollars. So you are paying close to what we paid originally. Obviously every market is different. I have noticed in Australia and Europe prices are higher than here in the US. On the other hand most of the asian countries and South american countries pricing will be lower. Really just basic economics.

ayrton63- Curious to know what the traveller kit edition is or consists of. It would be the equivalent around $700 us dollars difference. Maybe heated hand grips, wind screen, and panniers?

In Belgium you could get Terras at 5000 EUR. But there are none left. Any that were sold in the last months have been imports (a.o. from Greece btw) and were more expensive.

Are you talking about the Ride in Woodinville?
 
Snared one of the last dozen or so Strada's in Aus (when PFG/ importer and the dealers just wanted to see the tail light of them) for a cracker deal.
In hindsight, should've bought all three that the local Melbourne Husky HQ at the time had standing around. (A1 Ringwood) :-))

But that would've send Twowheeler here and someone else, walking. ;-)
 
I know from inside that the local importer sent 20 pieces to Belgium.
The traveller kit includes the 2 side bags with their base and a windscreen.
