  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Reserve not working TE310

Not owned my TE long and never seen the reserve light come on.
Came out of work tonight tried to start the fooker and it just turned over.
After much fiddling around i sloshed the tank around and notice not much fuel. I pressed start whilst sloshing and she started up, briefly.
No amber light on showing reserve.
Does anyone know how the reserve works? Is it just s light saying fuel is low or does it do something clever and switch onto reserve?
Pushed it to a servo and filled up.. worked fine..
Lucky it's nice and easy to push..

Yours might be like mine, already broken off and rattling around in the tank. I learned a long time ago just to use my tripometer to know how much gas I have left. I'll post a pic of the sensor as soon as soon as I find my pic, I think it's a piece of metal and when it gets dry, it sets off the light. The wire to it might also have come loose on your bike, inside the tank.

Look under the red arrow, that black wire is leading to the cylindrical metal sensor that is the low fuel light.

Here's an assembly where the sensor appears to have been broken off and is gone.

Correct on the broken wire OHR, I resoldered mine and it worked for a few rides. Then it must have broke again . I now reset my trip meter every time I fill up, I know I get around 90 km per tank so I make sure to fill up before then.
