• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

    Thanks for your patience and support!

Results are out.

The points have all been calculated and the results are out for the 2013 ATRC series.

Rally Class
1st Ollie Lloyd – SpeedBrain 450 (116 pts)
2nd = Phil Page – Yamaha 450 JVO (75 pts)
2nd= Mike Wharton – KTM 450 Rally (75 pts)

4th Ian Pritchard – Husaberg 501 Rally (74 pts)

I find myself in 5th place with 72 points. With only 3 points between me and 2nd place, it makes the DNF at the Hafren all the more frustrating. Next year!!

Considering my first rally was the Cambrian last year, and that this is my first year of racing of any sort, I don’t think I’ve done too badly at all!

Congrats to Ollie, Phil and Mike, and wishes of Good Luck to Ollie and Phil who are currently doing the Merzouga Rally in Morocco.

Phil is racing for charity, you can follow his progress and make a donation via his site: http://www.offroadraising.co.uk/

Their bikes are much lighter than yours, so I guess that it hasn't been easy to be 5th. Congratulations!
I use my SM 610 only on tracks and unfortunately almost all the 450s defeat me.
I'm glad to know that you have good results with a 630.

well done and not much competition from the KTM 690??

The class is mainly 450s now.

That being said, I see myself running the TE630 for a couple of years more then maybe looking at a 450 myself. Not least because it'll be lighter, but as the current regs for the bigger rallies is now limited to 450cc, there's also far more rally parts available for them, and I won't need to keep making my own bits :)
