• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Riding styles, tips, questions etc..

got one of my buddies to come out to the track with his bike last friday. he hadnt ridden in a couple years and was stoked. hes still sore lol i told him not to overdue it but he was havin too much fun. always better riding with friends and hes alot faster so it helps on the learning lines etc. also ive been riding on the balls of my feet more lately....still kinda weird feeling but also you can tell it helps ya

i was told in the corners to put alot of force on the outside peg, and to not lean over so much like a street bike would turn. it seems to be helping the bike hook up in the flat corners better.

What do you do in the case of a left hand turn that needs braking at the same time you need to weight the outside peg on the brake pedal side?

i guess just make sure your foot is back on the peg enough so you dotn put all the weight on the brake lever, its soemthing ive been workin with the last week or so. also i try to get all the braking out of the way by the time i get to the corners if i can help it.

That's good technique & try & keep your elbows up & not too much throttle or you'll be on your bum.

throttle control is definately key...i had a semi kamikazze moment last night commin out of one of the corners thank god nobody was riding next to me...was leavin one wheel candy canes off the track then back on the track, i was just hangin on for a sec
