• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE/TC Robertaccio's TE300 "Bullet Proof Bling" Thread........

Haha, did we not have any shark fins left? Danny and I were building the shark fins for the Factory team the other day and I snapped a tap off in one of the carriers. The aluminum is hardened and then hardened with anodizing to the point it felt like tapping tool steel.
$$$$ and sense/cents issue, used EE Sharkfin, used EE slave cover, new BLU CV4 hoses $110.

I tried to buy one from ol Danny, he said he had one and would call me back tomorrow ,that was three weeks ago. I ordered the factory Husaberg anodized blue one , had it in three days. Seems like not only hardened tool steel but hard to get .

Sorry about that. :( I wish you would of messaged me "Hey Michael, wtf?", I would of taken care of it. Those guys in the shop get incredibly side tracked and I am here specifically for you guys.

shes really coming along now. need to decide to run tubes this weekend or just throw on the mousses.....I dont like tubes in the boonie mexico single track..... she is getting thrown to the wolves this weekend.

funny i rode it once up and down the alley behind my friends shop theni rode it to sign up at the western hs race......friend tim put almost a 1/2 tank through it during the anza race riding with my other firends kid on the mini track. we have our hardcore trail ride this weekend...time to get some real into the deep end against the current riding this weekend. And yes I will snap some fotos before this weekends thrash fest.

If they are still using the same OEM "Extra Sensitive" tubes, that came on my Husaberg.... At least swap some HD tubes in !

I ffed up my first fastener...upper rhs rad mount screw from the ee guard kit. forgot to install the kitted spacer washer
screw got tight as it bottomed I stopped...realized the little spacer washer was not installed, so I went to remove the screw--carefully... and it snapped off. I will ride the thing as is this weekend and next week I will extract it.

RT,

You might want to re tap the 4 radiator mount holes in the frame. KTM uses self tapping screws when they put on the radiators and they don't do a great job of making threads. I have installed braces on many KTM's and have seen these 4 holes get stripped out easier than they should.

M6x1.0

yeah I noticed that and was very surprised to see those self tap screws that came out...... I will chase all the threads after I get the broken screw out, for now it needs to be ridden!!

Tested bike for real yesterday afternoon. Me likes very very much. The ergo fit my big arse very well.
Ride partner (300RR Beta took a bunch of fotos of bike and mio)
Noticed his Beta300RR does run low rpm rock climbs differently and better out of the box, thats just adjustments and tuning, no real issue.
At this time fork feels fine, rear spring is out of spec for my weight, 35mm static and I'm at 112mm race/rider sag. For a start I may only stick a rear spring on to get my sag number correct.

Chase down the correct rear spring. You'll be happier sooner!

Does your 300 feel lighter thant the Beta ? I rode a new 300 Beta Saturday and thought it felt heavy. My TXC 310 felt much lighter on the trail.

the x-lite chassis is very very good if feels lite and nimble, these 300s are apples and oranges kind of, my ride bros all ready think Im faster on this 2 stroka so maybe I fit it better?? ergos.

I did notice that sitting on KTM's at the dealer. Less cramped then the Betas and x lights. Sounds like the bike was an all around great choice.

I rode the bike in the hammerdown 10 trail ride with the next lean setting from the oem book chart because of altitude. Today I am going to just throw the JD Jetting kit kit in (Alt/Temp-BLU 2, M-162, AS 1.5) set up per the JD chart/listing, its the one leaner from his standard sea level set up. I still need to set the float height to 7.5mm down. 99% of our trail riding is between 2.5k and 5k ft and now with the spring and summer temps will average 75 F. So the next lean from standard should be solid.

Went for it installed JD Jetting 300 KTM kit, BLU-2 M 162, As 1.5, lowered float height to@7.5mm. running premium at@ 50:1 maxima super M for now (had a container on the shelf) also have have some 710 motul. Next batch?? maybe BelRay with a drip of maxilube added. Test on sunday. Will aim to stay around 50:1 2% standard (between 40 and 60:1) with good quality mix oil

What have you found bigger tank wise. I could have sworn I found a decent one on the web but I have just spent an hour searching and its eluding me.

Pick up my TE300 next Sunday :)

The UK has just about dried out enough to be rideable, too.

probably a bigger Husaberg tank will fit? Or would it need to be a XC KTM tank? what are the mount dims for tank to frame??
are they all the same? between XC frame and XC-W/ Husaberg TE, I really dont know.

No Husaberg/Husky aftermarket larger tank. Husaberg/Husky is the largest of the stock tanks. If you want bigger, you need to run KTM aftermarket tank, with KTM radiator shrouds. Factory Husky USA Team were using big IMS KTM tanks to get dry break for GNCC. Austria said no, as it affected "Brand Identity". They are now running aluminum dry break adapters on stock Husky tanks. Support riders are still using KTM tanks. Aftermarket KTM tanks fit comprable Huskys.
