• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

rod kit 1983 cr 250

it doesnt help they rarely go bad either...sucks
isnt it possible to resleeve a rod and install a new bearing?

I had it figured out but no one wanted in. Forest Stahl has modified con rods for Husqvarna from Hot Rods for customers so give him a call. I would put a modified Hot Rods con rod into any Husqvarna I own because I researched their process and it is very robust. They are drop forged, heat treated, and machined like the OEM rods

Just to let you know - we are down to our last NOS genuine rod and we are having new ones made by our F1 Rod manufacturer.

The price reflects the quality. Use something cheaper at your peril. The rods we have made are designed to be a perfect replacement with a couple of modern enhancements. 500 Rods will be back in stock soon too...

Don't think we are making a killing on these - because we are not. Also, It will be me who has to pay the £25,000 for the full order - long before we get them sold.

Hope you understand.

Andy.

If I had kept all the equipment I had 14 years ago, I would be making them on this side of the big pond and making them out of pre-hardened billet for the max durabilaty

Well said and considering you won't find another anytime soon! The soonest you will probably see them in the states is 6+ months!

a friend has one for a 430 automatic they are the same 250 400 and 430
the difference is the crank pin is shorter as the auto has narrower plates
if you can get the big end pin it is OEM Husky, hope that helps

The reality is, for specialist bikes like this, we will need to pay to play. if there is no parts about, someone needs to stump up the reddies to get the parts available and down stream for users is a price. better than no parts and sidelined bikes I rekon. good work Andy
