• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Sahara Sands New Jersey

I hear ya. I had to drive 3 hours to go pick up my kids as soon as I finished the race. Good thing i didnt finish top 5 this time. Didnt have to stay for awards haha

Cool! that's my son riding School Boy class on his new 2013 WR125. He will be racing B 200 next year so keep a look out for him. We are looking for a back up bike if anyone in NJ area is selling 2012 or 2013 CR125. Thanks!

Hey George you should be able to get your hands on one I'm sure. BTW Sahara Sands is a fun ride isn't it ? I love going out for that event because it has a lot of different stuff. I'm not racing for points or glory just for a fun Sunday ride and this place has it all. I haven't seen the 2014 ECEA schedule yet, but I plan on riding it again this year. If they have the spring event I would like to ride that too. My brother rides B Senior and he just loves that event also. He was supposed to ride the last event but he had to miss it because he got something in his eye at work.

Usually there is a MCI race there in the spring, and PBER in the fall. MCI was a sloppy mess last year, but if the weather is decent it's amazing.

I will ride the spring race there if the weather cooperates. I'm sure MCI will change the course up a little but I'm sure I will love it.

I'm loving it that the clubs are attempting to keep us riding as much as they can. I have never ridden a dual sport event and wonder if my WR 150 would be OK fuel mileage wise ?

I agree and everyone should come and support the club. The clubs are doing a lot to keep us riding as much as possible and fight for us against those that want to keep us out of the woods. They have a gas stop during the ride so your bike should be ok.

I wish i had 2 bikes to race the ECEA series. An MX bike would be so much better for the Jersey and Delaware tracks. Thats why I went back to a smaller gas tank and stiffened up the front forks a bit more. Sahara is cool but very whooped out!

Where is this place, exactly. Some of the marshy areas look similar to what we'd get cranked in on Cape May. I was only in Cape May once - for eight weeks.

The MCI race there is 5/18. The series opener is the TCSMC event on 3/2, right down the road from where the Hammer Run starts. Good event, a bit tighter. Sahara is cool but the series has other good ones too. If it rains hard the day/night before, and your not chasing points, might want to pass.
