• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I went with a local 2nd generation upholstery guy who also rides. It was half the cost of a renazco and as far as I've been able to tell just as good or better. He used a special foam, and since I wanted things a bit taller, didn't modify the stock foam. Rather he wrapped the stocker and then sanded to fit. I let him get artsy with the cover too...... :D

The first place I'd look for a spare seat would be a dealer. The aftermarket seat people, as far as I know, take seats sent to them and re-do them - although they may have an extra.

At least I believe from the question you are actually looking for a 2nd seat and not to have your seat re-done.

Ahh, I just made the presumption that the spare seat was to be able to keep riding while another seat was off for improvements........

Probably that is what it is for? But it sounds like just the seat is the issue at this time?

I dunno....

Guys thanks for the replies as mentioned ya after a spare seat, and mod the other, trying to get a spare here in Aust is impossible,:banghead: except for new and i don't want to buy new... then chop it up ??? so the option is to locate spare via ex wreckers or aftermarket (also impossible), I'm sure i am not the only one in this boat (bike), so if theres a Husky wreckers there in the Big US I would appreciate the details then I'll get in contact..

Cheers All

Maybe check with the Advrider side of things. I think there's been the odd spare seat passed around while the personal seat was off for modification. If that's the main goal and there's enough AU folx in the same boat maybe splitting the cost of new and taking turns on it while getting the stocker fixed is an option?
Also, is the TE seat the same for all displacements or the same for the 610TE/SM? Other options might be the SM guys at places like supermotojunkie.com or in the classifieds here? GixxerW1 and Chopt are parting bikes out? Until I found a local to do a good job I was in the same boat.............
