• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I did my SC seats on both my 511 and TR650. the foam and cover fit so perfect it is EZ. Taking the 300 staples out is the hard part but thats EZ too.

An air stapler can be had for 30$ or less from Harbor Freight and staples for 10$ or less.
I have four SC seats and the stapler has more than paid for itself, plus it's kinda fun and the stapler is handy to have around..
The other thing that is neat about DIY, is the foam could be tweaked/trimmed for even better fit, though not necessary.
Either way SC Seats are good stuff.

All this seat talk has reminded me that I've got about 5 sheets of memory foam in the attic from a previous project. The stock seat has proved pretty comfortable, but I'm toying with the idea of making something specifically for me using the extra supplies. Hmmmm......

Just a heads-up for those looking for a taller seat; SeatConcepts has released theirs.

I got mine yesterday and installed it. It adds a couple inches and gets rid of the bump & slope into the tank. It should help those with longer legs.

For reference, I have a 34" inseam and I can still sit flat-footed on the bike.

No photos, but there are some on their site.

I can't find any photos of the tall seat on the bike. if you could take a couple it would be great. I've got a custom build scheduled for the 19th. If I thought the SC version would work I'd give it a shot, it's 1/3 the price.

How firm is it? My experience is it's really hard to build up several inches from the pan and end up with something that holds up in the long run. Is it one piece of foam that is all the same consistency?

x2 Curious too.

The earlier post on here was a prototype I assume, but at least for that one, it looks to be all one density foam. My 30" inseam isn't interested...

I am 5'9" with a 30" inseam. The Terra fits fine now, though I am not flat footed. It should get better as the suspension settles in. That said, I do not want to sit much higher. The one inch foam should compress, but I have no idea how much. Have any inseam challenged folks like me tried the SC seat?

Well, Wolftrax's photos pushed me over the edge. Thanks for posting them. When I called to order my tall version I explained that i was gravitationally enhanced (280ish) and they said no problem, they mold a denser version based on my atypical weight. Should ship in a few days, I'm excited.

That is great customer service right there !

Anyone pick up the low seat from SC yet? I'm thinking it may be just what I need to get more than one toe of one boot on the ground at a stop light. Just not sure how comfortable it will be on longer trips.

Installed my Tall SC seat today. Went pretty well for a total amateur. Fit's me really nice, need to dry some miles with it to get a sense of how it holds up. My first impression is it's too soft, but we'll see.

For TR650 riders in the Pacific NW. The krussell garage now has an air stapler, enough 3m 77 adhesive, staples, and silicon spray to do about a hundred SC installs. I share well, you can borrow and/or just do yours in my garage if you want.
