Thought I'd post to see what anybody else is doing to up the output a little. I have a 08 SM610 that I love, but wish it had a few more HP, particularly in the higher third of the power band. It runs well and I've done the Leo slip-on and 02 sensor removal......it's just that the power is well, uninspiring. Last week I rode a buddy's KTM SM690.......while I'm not rushing out to get one, I did like the output of the bigger motor.
I had a DR 650 that I slipped a higher comp piston into and really liked what it did for that bike.
The Husky spins really slow on the elec starter and I'd be a little nervous about upping the comp.
I recognize that there is RARELY an engine mod one can do to a stock motor and not suffer some kind of negative consequence but, I'm not seeing much in the way of anybody experimenting with pistons, cam etc.........
any ideas????
