• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

hi guys, with all the talk of upgrading pegs and pedals and such, i decided to do a mod of my own. i noticed the brake pedals from a 91 and 95 were very similar, and the toe piece looked identical to my swedes..except the size...Photo889.jpg

upper is my swede, lower is a 91 wrkPhoto891.jpg

pretty ridiculous, the 88s is TINY

the toes are riveted and they are tough..i tried to grind the head off and punch it thru, but that wasnt working. i decided to grind flat, center punch, and drill thru with a 1/4" bit. this worked nicely

after doing this to both pedals, i made the switch. grabbed a bolt and nut laying around, applied generous amounts of red loctite, and assembled...cant wait to try it out!

i noticed my 95 360 has an almost identical pedal as the 91, so im guessing most 90s huskies would work to do this. i always liked the stock brake pedal's looks, so i can keep it and do a nice upgrade at the same time! this required no grinding or fitting, pretty much direct swap

Nice up grade I did the same to my 79 wr except I used a pedal from a 2004 husky worked perfect too. You can actually feel the brake pedal now.

thanks scrambler, im thinking im going to do it to my 500 as well, just grind that little tab off and bolt it on..
