  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I'm fully down for a fall trip to ID. It looks freaking amazing!
I imagine there's a lot of dispersed camping in the area, eh?

What bar bend are you running? They look low and swept back and I want to try them.

Yes there are lots of places to camp.the bars are stock.

That stuff just looks great. You guys have stuff that some of us guys on the east coast would be drooling to ride. Wish it would be that easy as to just load up and ride with you guys.:D

I grew up in northern NJ and decided to head for the mountains out west 23yrs ago,you would have a blast out here.

Curt,

What is a good weekend in October for you? I would love to come down there with a couple of buddies and ride some great stuff. I spent a ton of time in Ketchum from the 70's to early 90's but not so much since. All our trails close Oct. 15 for hunting season and my year slows way down then.

Walt,
I'm flexible but due to the weather I would pick one of the first three weekends.

I wish it were that easy for me just to pack up and move on. I have a few years to go and I can pack it in with the RR business. With places where you live and the places in California that our members have shown me, it make me have to take a visit out west. Who knows, I may wanna stay there after a visit.

Within two years of visiting Jackson's Hole for a ski trip I had my pickup packed and was on the interstate heading west to live in the mountains, everyone thought I was crazy.

Feel free to come to Colorado. Husky rentals are only about 120 for the day at a local dealer ;). Never ending trails with 10 minutes of the shop. Wait until you're closer to retirement though lol
