  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Slip-on silencer suggestions for TE511?

If anyone is interested and you may already know motosport now has oem tc parts online I just ordered my adapters for my megabomb total without springs $110.00

Finally got my adapter set for my TC header.
In the image below, #3 is misleading, it is a copper ring gasket that fits inside the head and #5 presses against it. I substituted Moose Racing stainless steel springs for husky springs since they were $13.95 for two vs. $50 for two. The end of the header actually fits inside of #5 and not around it and presses against the copper ring gasket.

And here is what Santa left for me under my Christmas tree:

Almost identical to Drd's system, except for the modified insert. This is the full GYTR race system used on the factory bikes @ Zip-Ty Racing. Stainless steel Megabomb header, mid pipe and titanium factory 4.1 blue anodized rct.

The insert can be created from a stock insert that is bored horizontally. Then a custom wire mesh can be welded on the interior of the quiet plug. This allows enough gas to pass in order to tune to peak hp and still keep close to a 96dB tone.

This is the stock unmodified 94dB quiet insert, but constricts a little too much.
Bellow is the insert from a Akrapovic TC exhaust and has been modified in a similar fashion, but this one does not have the screen over the tuned ports.

Another mod is to purchase just the GYTR spark arrestor and use double sized screen. I don't have an image of mine yet, I will remove it from the silencer and post an image later.

Tinken, have you still got these photos, the links are dead. It would be really handy to have a visual guide while fitting up my new header/muffler :)

Hey guys looking at doing this mod i believe i have found the megabomb and 4.1 online for a 2011 TC449 but want to conform the part numbers first for the exhaust... The FMF website is no help... does anyone know the fmf part numbers at all ??
