• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

SM 610 E Piston/Rings Availability?

jr60

Husqvarna
A Class
Hi

Need to replace the rings on 98-04 SM 610 S (E-start), apparently the rings are no longer available from Husqvarna !

So firstly does anybody have a source for the OEM rings ?

If they no longer available does the Wossner 8815D piston kit fit this model ? (aware that the TE/TC left kicker piston is different).

Thanks for any help on this – bike has been laid up for 2 months because of this!!

Cheers

Johnny

You should contact wossner to see which pistonz to buy - don't trust the site because there is confusion between the 610 left kicker and the e start one. OEM rings will be hard to come by, if you can I'd suggest replacing the piston altogether, wossner ones aren't too expensive...

Thanks for the replies, contacted Wossner directly - this piston is only spec'd for the later 04-10 E-start models and it is the only one they list for the E-starts 610's. Have spoken to a guy who tried one of these in earlier bike - fitted but bike would not run! The 98-04 runs a dished piston, seem to have changed to flat crown with valve cut-outs with later bike - I presume with diff head design, hence squish diff and why not running I presume.

Can't find any info on the Athena one, anybody tried it or any others - FBF / Wiseco in the earlier bike?

Cheers
