• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

SMR 511 Shorty levers

I think you mean we have a different brake setup. I have a 2011 SMR511. ARCs fit the clutch fine. But not the brake...

So the ARC for the 99-03 Aprillia Mille RSV is the correct part for the 2011 SMR511?

Edit: Just checked the ARC website and they don't offer a clutch lever for the Aprilia. They only have three options that I could see:

CL-105 shorty lever for the Magura clutch
CL-104 lever for Magura clutch
CL-203 lever for KTM/Husky

Any suggestions which one will fit our bike?

Sorry guys, wish I could be more help. I'm pretty sure I have the CL-105's on my clutch which is the shorty lever, the long lever is similar to the oem lever. I use the BR103 for my brake, but your's will be different and I don't know what to match it up with short of just calling them. I'm not sure if these will work or not, they are kind of spendy too.

I don't really care about the brake. Mine fell over and snapped the tip off which solved the issue. It is the shorty clutch lever I am after.

The only thing I can say for sure is about my experience with ARC. I sent them a bunch of pictures of my MCs, they thought BR-103 and CL-203 would work.

BR-103 definitely didn't fit.
CL-203 fit, but was not any shorter than the oem.

ARC were cool and let me return them.

Just saw this thread... so i went to check. shit. CL-203 wont fit but BR103 should and its much shorter than stock.

In the end I got a knock off Brake lever from some China mob on ebay for $70. Same as Titax/CRG, it was really only for the shorter length to fit inside hand guards to pass scrutineering. Still retaining standard clutch lever as that's clears my hand guards.

Aprilia RSV Mille 99-03 fits the SMR Brembo front brake. So any manufacturer that makes shorty levers for that model, they will fit the Husky SMR Brembo set up.

They are cheap and cheerful but once I get right into the serious racing (if I keep the bike that is) Ill look at upgrading to either a Brembo RCS set up or a full Beringer system anyway.

Does the job.

If you have an SMR and don't want to save up for the beautiful RCS15 get an RSV aprilla lever from ebay. Still pricey but does the job of fitting behind your handguards.

Brembo & Magura master cyls are used on KTMs, most of them a catered for with aftermarket levers if there's no listing for the Huskys.

My Te449 has the Brembo/Brembo setup, I run a 2-dinger KTM clutch lever & KTM 4stroke brake lever from Sunline.

Anyone find a solution for a shorty clutch lever for the 511?

ASV Makes a shorty "unbreakable" lever. I have them on both the clutch and brake. Brake light doesn't operate with the ASV though. So I'm in the process of adding a little aluminum to hit the switch.

The levers may be"unbreakable". But the aluminium hinge they use bends like a mofo...

What fitment did you use for the clutch lever?

Messaged this guy, asking for just the brake lever. Only wanted $US19 delivered to Aus.

Yeah, I got the same lever and it was cheap and fits nice.
